Default Fog Light Rewiring

I wanted to be able to turn on my fogs with just the parking lamps on.

Your wiring harness for the foglamps should be similar to this.

Using a small jewelers screwdriver pry up on the pin lock on the plug.

Using the screwdriver, pry up on the clip holding the grey wire pin and remove it.

Using heat shrink tubing insulate the grey wire pin leaving about 1/4 inch exposed.

Insert the grey pin next to the Green wire pin making sure it is snug and no metal is exposed to prevent a short circuit!

Make sure you press the pin lock back down on the plug!

*note--if you want to have your foglamps on all the time you can put the grey wire pin next to the red wire (hot all the time), I tried this at first and didn't realize my fogs were staying on!

To reverse this procedure, just remove the heat shrink from the grey wires pin and place it back into it's original position on the plug.

I suppose I should have used my multi-meter in the first place to choose the correct position for the grey wire.

Update: If you want to use your APT/VRD as DRL's attach the grey wire to the connection shown by the end of the screwdriver in the next photo.

Connected there the lights will only come on while the ignition is in the "Run" position and you will still have fog light switch function.

Now if I could just figure out which relay kills the power to the fogs when the high-beams are on!

i did it but when i tried to pull the grey wire out of the slot, the wire came out of the pin. i ended up just splicing it into the red wire and it works just fine.

If your spliced to the red wire, make sure you turn off your fogs with the switch or they will stay on even with the key off.

yeah i just noticed that, im going to go and use the green wire because i do not like the fact that they turn on w/o the key being in the ignition. i also noticed that the light on the switch only comes on when the lo beams are on. even if the fogs are on, the light on the switch does not come on.

no they have their own switch, the parking light switch has nothing to do with it.

If you splice make sure that the grey is not still making its original connection, also it is not as easily reversible.
