to reset the ecu, just unplug the negative terminal on the battery for about 10 minutes. No intake comes with a bypass valve other than the TRD, however you can buy one for almost any full cold air intake. The best is all an opinion. The one that produces the most peak hp is the injen cold air intake. However you posted here in the weapon r thread and that isn't a full cold air intake, this is a short ram intake. For a short ram intake (sri), you can't use a bypass valve nor would you need one. The full cold air intake (cai) adds a pipe that goes into the fender well while the sri has the filter sit in the engine bay. An injen hydroshield can go on the filter for a full cai or for a sri and that would help protect against water as well, just not as effectively as the bypass valve.

i just installed my weapon r intake on my 06 tc. at normal driving it sounds normal but when you tap the throttle in a bit or gas it it makes a big grumbly growling sound. hella big noise! i didnt really feel much increase in power but it sounds way sexier for sure.

I'm having a problem with having the intake fully connect to
the throttle body using the adapter.

Does someone know an easier way? I keep twisting and turning
but it still won't fully touch.

I try to start my car and it sputters like no other.

first attach the adapter to the throttle body and lightly clamp.....then place the intake housing on the adapter give it a little wiggle and it will fit right on....rotate it to fit in a location that is near the mount spot on the wheel well........get your wheel well mount in place and be sure to use the rubber bumps they give you so it can flex......mount the mapp and tighten it all down in place.........lastly put on the filter.........also check to see if you got the 06 one for your car and not the 07.......they are shaped a little differant I think from what I can see in pictures.........took me about an hour to get it all aligned and snug.........

Did you guys use the stock clamp for the throttle body?

I was looking at it and I tried it on. It seems like it grabs SUPER
tight. Even tugged on it and tried to move it but it won't budge.

Was looking around at cold air intakes and i must say that the Weapon R Secret Weapon Intake for the scion tc has been catching my eye. However i have only seen it for the 05, 06 and 07. Will the 07version work for the 08 ? will i need to use adapters at all if get the kit ?

^^^ to answer your question about the 2008 tc. i do not see any major changes in the Throttle Body design. How ever i could be wrong. Everything looks the same to me. you could always call weapon-r and ask them if you are unsure.

wow i dint think this thread would still live. I have the weapon-r intake with the cold air box and ram air. To me probably the best intake for the tc. I directed the ram air scoop RIGHT in front of the vent opening. Also i have figure grills becuase the stock vents dont even have holes in them. For the new people wondering. The adapter from the throttle body? itz just a silicone coupler. and as for performance. Im N/A and nothing really gave me much exept my downpipe. O yeah the only thing about the ram air is that my filter gets really dirty at where the ram air connects. so im thinking about moving the ram air scoop away from the vent and just having it in that area. The cold air box seemed like cheap quality. To whoever has it, how did it fit? and also I emailed weapon-r about cleaning the filter, and they said oil is no longer required? WTH either they are just cheaping out, becuase my so called free "cleaning kit" was only a cleaner. Or the filters really are better dry. Somebody throw some cents on this. I needa clean my filter soon.

-Thanks, Tony

Does anyone know if the WR intake requires the 15mm silicon hose, or can I just use the stock hose? (This hose that connects the intake to the cam cover)

You can either use the hose we supply or the stock one will work too.
