just installed the nst cable bushings today. doesn't make the biggest difference but the shifts do feel a little more precise than before and that could be that i've had my car for almost 4 years of course. good product for a cheap price.

I have considered the cable bushing replacement for a couple of weeks now...I installed my short shifter with base bushings and noticed an improvement in positive shifts and more firm shifting. The shifter is still loose yet I believe that is coming from some internal parts of the cage itself. I just wonder if the cable bushings will help with some of the give in the shifter. I want solid shifts! Maybe the cage needs replaced, IDK.

will these fix my 5th gear pop out? I just ordered them so hopefully it will. Toyota told me the most likely reason for the pop out is worn out shift cable bushings but they were trying to charge me $770 for the fix!!

Whoa!!! $770 is a costly repair if it is indeed your bushings.

Unfortunately, 5th gear pop out is also a sign of a transmission that is on its way out. You may want to have a mechanic take a look at your car to give you a second opinion.

Either way, good luck with all your projects!

Yea, I just replaced the Tranny!

The bushings feel great though! Very easy install.
