Are you ready? Good!
https://www.scionlife.com/tech/image...hings_tc/1.JPG
Get all your parts together and bring them outside.

https://www.scionlife.com/tech/image...hings_tc/2.JPG
Locate your shifter cables (Under air box) Notice the pin and washer on top.

https://www.scionlife.com/tech/image...hings_tc/3.JPG
Remove pin and washer then remove the bushing using HAND force only!

https://www.scionlife.com/tech/image...hings_tc/4.JPG
Old junk on top New hotness on bottom, Looks a lot better doesn’t it :)

https://www.scionlife.com/tech/image...hings_tc/5.JPG
Now with your shifter linkage empty.

https://www.scionlife.com/tech/image...hings_tc/6.JPG
Place the solid metal bushing in place. Place the bushing so the groove for the "e" clip is facing up.

https://www.scionlife.com/tech/image...hings_tc/7.JPG
Use "e" clip to secure.

https://www.scionlife.com/tech/image...hings_tc/8.JPG
Then top it off with the pin. Pat yourself on the back because you are done with that part!

https://www.scionlife.com/tech/image...hings_tc/9.JPG
It’s time to get to your shifter base.

https://www.scionlife.com/tech/images/tcover/4.JPG

https://www.scionlife.com/tech/images/tcover/5.JPG
Pop off your shifters trim

Next Step is Optional:
https://www.scionlife.com/tech/images/tcover/9.JPG
Remove the two screws at the top that connects the center console to the dash. Then remove the two 10mm bolts hidden under the carpet in the center console armrest. Don't forget to unplug the cig lighter. You can now remove the center console for more room to work.

https://www.scionlife.com/tech/image...ings_tc/10.JPG
Remove the (4) 12mm bolts

https://www.scionlife.com/tech/image...ings_tc/11.JPG
Bolts removed

https://www.scionlife.com/tech/image...ings_tc/12.JPG
Then remove the metal stopper from the rubber bushing.

https://www.scionlife.com/tech/image...ings_tc/13.JPG
Remove the rubber bushing using hand force only.

https://www.scionlife.com/tech/image...ings_tc/14.JPG
Grab your metal bushings;

https://www.scionlife.com/tech/image...ings_tc/15.JPG
Install the bottom bushing first

https://www.scionlife.com/tech/image...ings_tc/16.JPG
Then install the top bushing, replace bolts and tighten up. Your good to go.

Review:
The products quality is good I’m told there will be an option for red or blue anodized pieces in the future. The install was easy and pretty straightforward. The only problem was that there were no instructions included. I’m told there will be a set made and sent out with future kits. Upon finishing I noticed my shifter felt stiffer, it was a bit harder to get into gear but felt nice and tight. I personally think I will like it a lot. Unfortunately (as some of you may know) my car is not drivable right now, so I was unable to give it a good test drive. I will continue this review once the car is back on its feet.

Big Thanks to Tai from www.corsportusa.com for help with this review

Thanks for the incredible review, we truly appreciate it over here at CorSport! ;)

Anyway, so everyone knows the base bushings are on backorder until early to mid october.

Have no fear though, the cable bushings are the better of the two mods (IMO) and still available!

i'd warn about dropping stuff into the framing under the shifter, YOU WILL NEVER SEE IT AGAIN. I lost two screws down there and i found one that didnt make it all the way in. Yall have been warned!!!!

What is the purpose of the base bushings...How do that actually enhance shifting?

Makes the shifter base more sturdy by removing the play in the rubber bushings.

Spect2K3 12-03-2006 01:54 AM

any reviews of the shifter base bushings for those who have em in? (kaeon was saying his car isn't driveable)

The picture shows 8 shifter base bushings...why do we need 8?

CorSport 12-03-2006 03:41 AM

4 corners -- 1 top and 1 bottom per corner = 8 bushings for the base.

Spect2K3 12-03-2006 04:03 AM

Ah, I didn't realize that they were on the front as well, but makes sense...duh! Thanks

Installed the shifter base bushings today from corsport. Great customer service and quality products. I find the cable bushings to be much more effective than the base bushings. I don't feel a big difference with the base bushings like I did with the cable bushings, but nevertheless, everything feels nice and tight. For the price, you cant go wrong. Thanks corsport!

woffledong 01-27-2007 05:03 AM

hate ta burst your bub, but you forgot to install the oem washers that went between the bushing and the pin. check out the propa install https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...ushing+install

CorSport 01-27-2007 01:51 PM

^NOPE. Not on ours. The stock bushings is NOT needed and should NOT be reinstalled.

I have had this mod installed in my tc for over 3 months, and 15K miles driving with both, and this has been a great mod  . I did it with my brother in like 45 minutes for both the base bushings and the cable bushings (easy to do). It gives a very nice, solid and nothchy feel to the shifter and highly recommend the mod. Hell for $60 bucks you cant beat the price on the mod. Great quality product and no problems at all.

tc4fun4me 02-06-2007 11:59 PM

I have them, GREAT improvement in shifter feel, best $$$ you can spend on your shifter!

I'm about to place my order but I don't see the gunmetal andonized ones on the site? Or unless the only ones listed ARE of the gunmetal ones. Is there a price difference or should I add in the notes section of my order that I want the gunmetal ones?
