Greetings from the GT-Man
Welcome to the 2000GT Owners lounge, Lets face it if all the 2000GT owners were to gather at one place we would have about 15 people in the US. About 80 in Japan maybe more but most if not all are accounted for and a few hundred world wide survive. I and a few good buddies in Japan and here in the states are keeping the originality and roadabiliy of these old sportscars alive.
We will get some photo's posted and have some values posted for you to share but understand some basic #'s These cars are rare built by YAMAHA for Toyota.
All US models were MF10-Left hand drive 1967's distributed thru 68 at aprox $6,100 or about $900 more than a Porsche 911. Few were sold retail. They were walnut dashed 5 speed handmade beautifull cars with Ferrari like looks performance and Japaneese quality. I beleive they were the first Lexus in ingenuity and world stopping automotive recognition. After the 2000GT broke Porsche's durability record for speed and distance in 24 hours by a large margin the German company had to go back and redesign a car just to get their record back from a Japaneese company. That was a first of many European responses to Japan 's technology and productity comming to market. It was the James Bond Car in "You Only Live Twice" as a custom made convertible as Sean Connery could not fit in the coupe.
In 1970, 9 more cars were shipped to the US without twin cam engines some were automatic and had a/c . MF-12L model designation
In Japan there were 3 series of production cars, Original twin cam MF10, Later MF10 type 2 body with updates to lights and interior. These updated cars did not meet new stringent US standards on emissions and safety. The last 2300cc single cam MF12 series were beautifull but lacked toggle switches and walnut dash.
Pictures to follow I hope you enjoy them.
If you have any questions I will try to answer them

I live in Lakeland and I'm not exactly sure where you are, but I've
always wanted to see one of these cars in person.
