Recall hiding(Japan)
there has been big news about toyota in japan right now.
three top people from Toyota have been sent in charge of accidental infliction of injurythe and docments have been sent pertaining to a case to the Public Prosecutor's Office
Toyota did not report the recall for "Hilux"(US name 4Runner" even thought
they recognized the poor quality of the car.
The vehicle beign recalled is "Hilux" made in 88 to ??. This model
Im not familiar with car mechanic so i dont know which part they are talking about but
i guess its a shaft?anyway theres this part just breaks and not being able to drive.
Theres incident in 2004, the ownder of Hilux was driving and the part broke.
he was not able to control the wheel and he crushed into the the other side of lane.
5 people have been injured by this accident.
There are more recalls about the same problem but Toyota did not call for recall because the other incidens were only happened when the car is parked and you turn the wheel.
Toyota had experiment in 1996 for this car.
but the experiemnt in turning wheels, the car did not make 60000 times of turning wheels, which is required to pass in order to own the vehicle for 10 to 15 years.
in 1996, toyota marked this problem A rank which is the highest rank for recall.
however, toyota did not call for the recall.
The vehicle "Hilux" had a model change in 1988.
the engine of the new model was much heavier than the old model
but they used the same shaft they used for the old model and this caused this problem
what the hell is wrong with toyota? they wanted to be another mitsubishi tragedy?
they also had recall for lexus and some vans in japan.
looks likes they rushed way too much to grow.
anyway sorry for my poor english
hope you guys understand this

Your english is better than half of the people on this board.
I hate to see this. There has been a lot of focus lately and a lot of scrutinization on Toyota for their growing number of recalls. They need to step it up.
