Scion xA and xB close out 2006 then redesigned - 2008 models
Nothing is in stone yet about the new models. All we know is they xB will look similar to the concept vehicle. Other than that, Scion is not comiiting to the drive train or even the exact design. The redesign will be a 2008, and come out about the same time as the new Corolla in early 2007 - probably about April.
The 2008 xA will also come out in early 2007, no word at all on the design. Just that they are going for a all new look on both models.
This means that the 2006 model will shortly be hard to find. We just recieved a good amount of them so Scion is going to do their best to build up inventories and support them as long as possible. Pretty much expect their to be no xA's or Xb's on the market for up to 6 months between the transition.
As for the tC, as has been discussed Scion plans to keep the current "Spec Package" in production. The majority of tC owners prefer to customize the appearance rather than buy a special edition of the vehicle.

The xA may come out then, but seeing that we pretty much know what the xB will look like it would not make sense for the xA to be out first. I would think we would be seeing spy shots and lots of insider info if the new xA had any kind od substance yet.
In reality, it may just be phased out and replaced by a new model al together. That was the orignal plan, 4 -5 years of a model then replace it with a new one, maximum of 5 models ever at one time.

It is very hard to figure out what is going on. The 2007 tC's are already arriving. We were told we will receive some 2006 Xa's and Xb's until they decide to shut the line down. It will be March or April, by current estimates, when the replacement for the Xb premiers as a 2008 model. It appears to be even longer until we see the Xa replacement.
Since we were told there will NOT be any 2007 Xa's or Xb's, then it would make sense that if there is a special release series those will have to be 2006's.
One thing I do know, the production sheets do not show or mention anything other than 2006 X'as and Xb's.

That's a serious problem if there are no 2007 xA's or xB's. They are selling so well that they will lose massive numbers of sales doing this (people will buy Fits or whatever). They can't not have any stock for six months or more-that's just insanely stupid. They should do what GM did with their model year 2006 large SUVs before the 2007 redesign-make an unchanged carryover model for the 2007 model year, and then release the 2008 early. Or, alternatively, keep producing the 2006 models until the 2008 is ready.
More recent info said that they will be produced until December and availible into Febuary with the new models being released in April(xB) and May(xA).
So maybe for the month of March the old models may be hard to come by in some areas.

I just looked at the Charles Maund Scion website. They have 10 pages of xB's in stock and one was and RS 3.0 envy green! Looks like I won't have any trouble buying an xB if I don't like the look of the new models.
