We Want a 6th Speed Manual
LoL
thats one way to get someones attention. Unfortunatly, your not going to get Toyota's that way.
You need to state the reasons for it and then give Toyota a reason to do it in the first place.
Who is we?
Is there a list of we's?
You'll need more then that to make a case.
Also, since your really not stating any good reason, a one sentance thread doesn't really make a lot of sense.

unforunatly everytime people start posting reasons for wanting a 6 speed some shmuck crawls out from under a rock and tries to argue why it wont ever happen dragging the thread off topic until its them insulting everyone who disagrees with them.
The only reason that someone would want a 6 speed is because they want to say they have 6 gears.
Even lancer evo's don't have 6 speeds(unless you buy the MR)
99 % of the time your car would top out higher in 5th then 6th.(which you should never hit anyway in the states)
Most cars with a 6th gear cruise at a higher RPM then thier 5 speed counterparts.
Having 6 gears takes longer to shift and slows you durring a drag race.(Due to more off the throttle time even thought it might be less then a second total, thats enough)
Shift gates are closer making a misshift VERY easy. esspecially if your inexpierienced. (look at the celica GT-S and RSX type-S. Even the Spev-V can be close at times)
There are a lot of reasons that Toyota wouldn't put a 6 speed in another car. there are very few reasons they would.
I just posted what I posted first because "We want a 6 speed manual" is NOT a thread nor does it signify any inteligence toward the topic. I've seen 4 year olds come up with better arguments and statements.
If people have good reasons for a 6 speed then I'd like to see them. I'm just stating the reasons you'll get for NOT having one and every reason IS valid.
I'm not trying to be a smart a$$. I just want to make a valid point.

Anyway, if you drove a tC then you would understand. I like the way the gear ratios are with 5th having good passing power. But once I hit highway speeds of 80 mph Im at 4000+rpm!!!
The 2007 model year should have a 6th speed "Option"
A 6th (higher) gear would allow me to "Cruise" at lower rpm's generating less wear on the engine and better GAS MILEAGE! Better for the enviornment, better for the nation, better for my pocket, etc...
so you want to go faster than any posted speed limit in the country, spend more money on the car to save money on gas and im betting that your saving about 2-3 more MPG with a 6 speed. Why cause you put a turbo in your car so you can burn it out by 2007 and you want scion to make you a 6 speed to replace it. And yes I do drive a Tc and no I dont think it needs a 6 speed.

First off, speed limits don't pertain to me at the track. I am a driving enthusiast, I'm not into audio or bling... The RSX has a 6 speed and I enjoyed the way it felt. But I love the tC.
Even at your guess of what 2-3 mpg amounts to, that still about $8 bucks a pop. At about 1 tank a week for me, that's over $400 a year. At least little bit more money would be going to Toyota for the part and not in the pockets of oil tycoons.
What do you mean burn it out with a turbo? If you mean the clutch then yeah maybe (it's rated at 300hp) , but I'm talking about the 'transmission'. Scion would not replace my clutch for me...
I never said that the tC "Needs" a 6th speed. I am merely stating that I feel an 'option' for a 6th speed manual transmission would appeal to driving enthusiasts who love it.
Why would you want to take that away from them?
Just because your at a higher RMP doesn't mean your using more fuel.
I cruise at 75 to 80 mph and I'm getting about 34 mpg at almost 4000 rpm.
If I'm going 65 and I'm at 3300 rpm I'm only getting 25to 26 mpg. (not a toyota)
It's not the RPM your at, It's how hard your engine is working to keep you at that speed. Your right in your powerband and thats how toyota designed it. your engine might be spinning faster but it's not working as hard.
Also, your asking about engine life in a toyota? You need to do more research. Your car is NOT the first to spin the engine that fast at highway speeds in the toyota lineup.

you always do, no idea why those opposed just can't shut the hell up. all those who want it DON'T CARE what all your insignificant "why nots" are. My Jeep.... 6speed .. need it? nope! like it? yup. Do I go around telling people about it when it's totally off topic? nope. would anyone else? probably not. Does the thing drive better on the interstate than the same year/model with a 5spd? ALOT better.

right on!
Option Wagon had an article about a 6MT swap into a Toyota FunCargo. I have yet to figure out where the trans came from And if it's still the same 1.5 motor. I'll be checking on this, but there apparently is some sort of swap. Keep your eyes peeled cuz I find out.
So true...
Why waste my time arguing with such disgruntled haters. There is no way that you can claim there would be more cons than pros for a well built Toyota 6 Speed manual for those who would want the option. To each their own.
Interesting how the tC automatic's highest gear runs 1000 rpm less at highway speeds than the highest gear for the manual. Interesting how it gets a few more miles to the gallon as well.
Dont get me wrong, I love the current gear ratios for the Tc Manual. But a adding higher gear (ie: 6th gear) for cruising highway speeds would be welcome by more people than you might think.

No seriously WE NEED A 6spd manual.
O test drove an xB yesterday and it was geared WAY to short....at 65mph I was at 3,5k RPMS?!?! either install a 6spd or revise the gearing.
Please add a 6th gear because the short gearing make it so damned fun...the sixt gear would be for curising porposes only. gear it so you could cruise [65mph] at 2,5K like in my 9-5 AERO. Mileage would increase astronomically
