scion means "son of" or "offspring of" Mainly with Gods and Greek mythology

Ever watch "Dogma"? The main girl was the "last Scion" or decendant of God.

Ford had a model called the "Aspire"... which means... "To want to be something different".

Camry, I beleive is a variation on the Japanese word for "crown"

Corolla is the ring formed by the petals of a flower.

Scion was already explained.

xB is just a variation on bB, which stands for "black box", which was Toyota's code name for the car when it was under development. The guys behind the concept were actually going to sell the car only in black orginally, as sort of a homage to Henry Ford and the Model T, which was available in black only, but the marketing deparment canned that idea.

Toyota probably did some market research and realized that Americans would think "bb" sounded a little too cute and wouldn't appeal to males 18-29 or whatever.
