Default Editing question

Everytime I edit one of my post, it will put a whole new post with the edited text. Why doesnt it edit the original post?

Hmmm... that is interesting. I haven't seen that happen before. When you edited did create the first post, then click back and edit it, then hit the post button again? That would probably cause that to happen.

...or did you view your new topic, then click the "edit" button and do it that way?

Here is the thread that it happened in:

After it was posted I noticed a spelling error so I clicked the little scissors and paper to edit the mistake. When it forwarded me back to the thread my original post was there and a new post with the correction.

I see what happened... you accidentally hit the quote button instead of the edit button. You can remove your dupliucate post by hitting the X button near the edit and quote button.

Yes, of course. Sorry about that. I do not see an X button though. I see; report this post, quote, edit, view printable version. Where is the X button? The edit button actually says "edit/delete" but I do not see where to delete it after I click it.

Oops, maybe there isn't a delete button... hit the "!" button and just type that your post is a duplicate. The mods will take care of it.
