Default Help prevent scammers

Not sure if it has been brought up yet but yeah this refers more on classified PPC section..

Many scammers visits sites to try to scamming by selling stuff they dont have, pictures stolen are pretty common..

I have been scammed way before thinking, he had photos so he is legit after awhile a repost of the pic was on the other thread and its the exact pics he sent me.. im regular here and the picture was so familiar, no wonder why coz it was in the tech section which i have seen several times..

Putting your username on the pics you took will help a lot, not totally but will limit some.. they can use it on other sites or forum but least not here on this awesome website.. we can do other measures too and suggest ways to prevent this, we dont want scammers to get our hard earned money or money we sacrificed for our hobby or needs..

just some thoughts..

eBay started doing that with the Wii shortages and such I think. At least I started to see it more.

It could be something that is recommended here, but I'm not sure about enforcing it b/c enough people seem to have problems posting any pics at all.

yeah its not gonna be easy enforcing that, some other forums are pretty strict about that too, i had a thread locked easily since i didnt follow the rules.. I was kinda ____ed at first, though i posted "pics coming". but i understand theyre just trying to prevent scams.. its not the ultimate solution, but will sure make fraud not so easy than it is now.. so peeps if you take pics, its good if you can just write your username.. shouldnt take that long as long you're not a 3 year old haha

Good suggestion, Ace.

We won't make it a "rule" but we can try to incorporate the "suggestion" into the rules.

That's also why we limit all sales to the PPC area, and require that sellers (and buyers) have a minimum of 50 posts (to prevent the "drive by" scams as much as possible).
