Hi all,

Can we have a new section titled something like;

Legal/ Illegal
Legal Mods

or something like that?

It would probably have to be state specific too I guess.

Just a place where we can b!tch and moan about the laws requiring us to do or not do things to our cars. Maybe something like legal advice would be too legally troublesome for this website.

Here's how it goes:

CA: everything illegal
Rest of the Country: everything OK

No, really though... in order to get an entire new section, there'd have to be a LOT of posts about it... so much so that it clutters every other section.

I like your 'quick hints' answer, Allan - it's damned near true. :D

Really, though, there ARE some minimum requirements defined by the federal government. Things that most states just 'assume' in their laws (like all cars built after 1939 being required to have turn signals...).

So, to build on Allan's answer:

California: everything illegal
Rest of country: See FMVSS and Rules

(I also agree that there really isn't enough discussion on these topics to warrant a new forum here on ScionLife - actually I don't think there is enough discussion on keeping our cars legal, but that is another thing entirely...)
