looks kinda wack to me. it just takes a couple turns of a wrench to get the drain plug out, its not like its difficult. :?

those work great...i had one on my ranger and it saved alotta time energy and frustration...the only problem i had was that the part that actuall screwed into the oil pan didnt really seem to seal that well...it was probably just me not tightening it enough...but other than that i would say go get one if you change your own oil

I hear it takes hours for the oil to drain with those things. And I'm not exaggerating. If you still want to try one, Pep Boys has them on sale this week for $9.99.

I had one on my Grand Am and Ranger and it worked great. It didn't drain slow for me. It's a little less messy than pulling the plug all the time.

how old was the oil that it was that thick? or was it -20 degrees out? i never had any oil drain slow...just make sure that the engine has been runnin for a little bit so that the oil is warmed up...but you should do that for a regular oil change too

Should work great just remember to bring motor up to temp. and remove oil fill plug to aid draining of old oil quickly. But you still have a mess with the filter replacement.

Amen!!!
In My Opinion, it's just one more thing that will f**k up, or leak. Not taking chances with my engine.

These have been around for decades. Not a bad idea. Possible downsides is leaking if debris gets into the valve and damage if the valve hangs below the oil pan.

I have seen a few of these online. Some seem better then others. I think I would want one like a valve that you need to trun a nob, just pushing something into this thing seems to unsafe. Jumt my $.02, also if you wanted to add a oil cooler just do a remote mount on the filter also. Make it easier to get to the filter that way.

All Fords have them, they're called an Ignition Switch. Turn the engine on, and watch the oil drain.
