Default Goodbye tC !

After a 2 years and 58k miles a fantastic relationship with my '05 Silver tC, I had to say goodbye. Never ever had any mechanical issues, replaced front brakes my self at 52K miles, rattles from the hatch, and a whistle from the wind deflector. Excellent and very reliable vehicle. It was a trade in for a car almost like it, '07 VW EOS. Dealer paid me 12.500 becauz' I had a dent in front windshield from a rock 2 months ago, otherwise they want to pay me 13k$$. I thought they will give me something like 8-9k, but I was shocked. For the potential buyers I strongly recommend this baby.
Goodbye all and see you all on road. Drive safe!

^^^ the EOS is far from 17k, try 30K+ . Also, good luck with that convertable - I can only see nothing but bad things from that car. After your warranty runs up, i bet that complete motorized convert top when (not if) it runs into problems will run you every bit of $4k to repair. Also, did you notice your car came with a BUG TRAP? put the top down, then pop open that little wind deflector and drive for 1 hour. you will need to vacuum out all the bug splatters from inside that thing, it pulls them right it.

My buisness partner has one... and its cool, its quirky.. but IMHO isnt worth the $$$ he paid..

anyways, the germans build FANTASTIC cars, thats just not one of them.

Good luck!

Yea I know, those commercials are just too hilarious to pass up the chance to say the joke.

i have never been a fan of VW - maybe its because around here, there is only one mechanic that will work on them, and he is not cheap. My sis had a jetta, and she had nothing but problems with it since the day she got it, and they VW guys at the stealership were quick to NOT DO A DAMN THING TO HELP WITH ANYTHING...

sorry to see another tc owner go! enjoy your new ride bro!

I was not a big fan of VW until I got my Passat last year with a 3.6 power plant, 270lb/feet torque at only 2700 rpm, there is no other V6 like this one up there right now, don't tell me Q7 or Porsche beacause they share the same engine. Lets cut the BS, German cars are different and they drive different, I know are not like Toyota's trouble free, I know all that, synthetic oil only, premium gas etc, when it reaches 60k miles and the warranty expires I'm gonna say goodbye again, I use to be a auto mechanic in my early 20's and I know cars well enough, and when I think about that retractable hard top and the complexity of it I get a headache but it's all about having fun driving, right? It will be great to a have a 6 speed autotrans DSG and 2.4 liter turbo convertible on tC. I'm sure it will happen someday soon.
Life is to short. I'm not rich, my wife and I, we work very hard to earn the money, buying new cars every 2-3 years is the only luxury we can afford for now. I will post some pictures with the EOS soon.

I love VW's, just the eos is kinda qwirky. The R32 is one of my favorite cars of all time (I hear a r36 is in the making?) . The only problem is that serious torque steer.

did you get the 4 or the 6?

I had a 2001 VW GTI VR6 (done up just a bit) never had and engine problems with it. Drove it till I hit about 30k...got rid of her for a BMW M Roadster...now that was a great convert!....

well good luck! I love VW i personally think they are great. Built very solid... doesnt sound like a tin can when you close it...
