Default Low Tire Pressure at 35 psi

I'm currently running hankook's 225/45/17 at 35 psi front and back....is this the correct psi I should be running or am I too low? If not, why does my tire pressure light keep comming on? I did take off my tires last weekend to repaint my rims, did I hit the tire pressure sensor or something? Please help.

That's about right. I run 34 front 32 rear which is still a little high.

32/29 front/rear

you need to reset your tire pressure system correctly...

and if you have an '07+ did you reinstall your pressure sensors into the new wheels?

same thing happened to me when i swapped to 225/45 BFGs on 7.5" rims. the tpm system is thrown off because the overall tire diameter is greater (among other factors) i'm fairly sure.

I reset the system (button in glove box), and then i kept holding [the button] in, which may or may not have disabled the system. idk. but all i know, is that the light hasn't come on again since, and i've driven approx. 5-10k miles on them.

read your owners manual. all the info you could want on the TPMS is in there.

i've found best results running a bit higher psi, eg. 34-36.5 front and rear....but every tire is different.

if i had it to do over, i would have done 225/40s. no biggie at all though.

yeah 45's are a bit thick for my taste, but....i only paid 400 for tires and rims...so I can't complain. Yeah, I reseted my tire pressure sensor correctly....forgot you had to press it and then press it again (and hold)...freaked me out, cause I kept checking the stupid pressure on each tire. Also didn't know that the 07's had to install a sensor on to the actual rim, I have an 06 and I haven't even seen the sensor LOL. Thanks guys! O btw isn't 29 in the back real low....or is that so it doesn't oversteer?

you won't experience oversteer on a fwd car like the tc unless maybe you are boosted or your alignment or suspension is off .

as far as spending 400 on rims and tires.....u get what u pay for.

its amazing what you can learn if you read the owners manual. :D j/k

haha nice burn....... o btw...the 400 dollar rims are raveann's he gave it to me for 400 cause they are discontinued and he was sellin the tC, so I lucked out. I'm just using these for now cause I rather spend money else where on the car rather than rims, later I plan on getting some works, rays, or gram lights.

Just reset the system to accomodate your higher PSI preference.

Although I run 40/39, my dealer never actually activated my tire pressure system... and I never got around to doing it myself. I guess I'll just tell the dealer about it when I take it in for some warranty concerns (that are unrelated to this).

yeah, I just did it wrong, cause you have to make the light blink three times before it resets.
