I am currently in the hunt for an aftermarket HU with DVD and navigation capabilities and I am down to 2 options, namely:
Pioneer AVIC-D3
and
Kenwood DNX7100
Please feel free to post their pros and cons.
One question, will the Kenwood DNX7100 fit in the OEM HU slot?
Thanks!

it seems as though the D3 is the fav on here... for that reason that is what i put in my tC. i love it. i got it on ebay for around $700shipped. i love it, no second thoughts, i never even considered another unit lol.

For D3 users:
Doesn't it bother you when you have to load your route, then eject the navigation disc, then insert and play a movie?
I think the Kenwood DNX7100 can navigate and play movies all at the same time.

i would go with the kenwood plus it has a garmin navi so its easier and its a nice interfece to navigate with. there are free firmware upgrades. navigation and movies or music at the same time without ejecting a disc...imo i like the kenwood and i am probably going to get that myself

Yeah, I'm actually getting Kenwood. I'm still debating if I'll get the DNX7100 or the DDX7019 with the KNA-G510 navi unit. What I loved about this is like you've said, it's Garmin, so it's easy to navigate, can recalculate if you missed a turn, can update maps with an SD card, and no more map DVDs so passengers can watch movies while you drive, but of course, I won't be watching while driving.
I'm going for DDX7019 instead of DDX6019 due to some features lacking in the DDX6019. Well, depends really on how the budget goes.

There are a few good and new models besides those. Check it out and maybe you can get a better model for the same proce you would normally pay for the kenwood or d3

The best method is to purchase it off the site and have it sent directly to your house. This is going to be the most secure because it goes from the factory into insured trackable shipping to your front door. It it doesnt get shipped you dont pay and if the shipping company looses it then your insured your full value.
Any other questions?
Yes scionlife, i will be signing up for the silver advertising thing tonight i promise! I want to follow all rules. Thank you for your understanding.
