Does anyone in here have that TST 5000? Do you think it's safe to use the Mr. Clean AutoDry system on it? I know they give you some sort of special wash stuff to use, but I was just curious.

It's one of those 'no wax' treatments. It does make the car look better... and it's on my girlfriends 07 Camry.

 

Did the dealer rip you off with this "paint sealant"? If so, I'm sorry to say... but they just jipped you

There's no such thing as a lifelong/5 year/10 year paint sealant.

Anyway, to answer your original question, sure, mr. clean auto dry shouldn't affect the sealant.

BTW, check your dealer agreement very carefully - usually when they say "lifetime," there's a tiny, tiny clause stipulating that it must be reapplied monthly or whatever. They usually don't mention this little thing to you either... regardless, I wouldn't trust anyone touching the paint on my car on a monthly basis unless I really trusted them. Which obviously doesn't include dealer "detailers"

I use paint sealant on my car and tried the Mr. Clean for quick washes, but I noticed that the paint sealant doesn't last as long when using the Auto Dry system. I recommend not using the Mr. Clean Auto Dry because of the crappy soap, instead use Meguiar's Gold Class wash soap with a bucket and wash mitt.

There is no lifetime sealant so therefore the Mr. Clean won't really do any damage anyway. Next time just buy your own paint sealant (I use Klasse) and apply it yourself. At most, paint sealant will last only a couple of months.

Thanks for the advice... they did give her some stuff to use in conjunction with the sealant. I told her I didn't know anything about it whenever she was buying her car in January.

Whatever it was they put on there, it was definitely smoother then wax whenever she got it, so there was something there. She's only had it washed a few times since then and every time it looks good as new.

Whether she was had or not, it was only like $200 so over the course of the loan it amounts to a few bucks a month. Not a big loss.

It's much cheaper, proven by several people on Autopia and other well-regarded detailing forums, and very simple and most importantly - CHEAP! The filter is pretty much infinitely renewable. The Mr. Clean system seems very, very expensive - and most people seem quite unhappy with it.
