so i took my car to the las vegas speedway where my friend john is the lead engineer at the shelby plant ..yes the shelby cobras. he took a look at my car he checked the pipe and like how it was 2.125 . it has the trd pipe on it but i forgot the increase. well i told him about stylis system and how its only a .125 of difference and he said that wont change anything at all. i told him he removed the second cat and it goes to the manifold cat and again he said that great but honestly the cars pipe is wide enough and you really dont need that on this car its only a .125 difference to begin with .. the car is setup just fine he says that when supercharged it would be ideal to make 2.5 and get a high flow cat but other than that the trd is the best decision...
the guy works on cobras how can he say that the pipe is big enough, he has no idea what the optimal diamter would be. hes right about 2.5 for F/I because in general 2.5/3 is best for F/I on pretty much all 4cyl cars.
just wait until there are dyno charts that compare different pipe sizes to stock, and that is when everyoen will know the exact optimal pipe diameter (which will be pretty close to 2.25 i would assume. so stylis system is going to be just fine and WILL help the cars performance.

he isnt a run of the mil tech man he is an engineer he doesnt just work on them he devlops them he works at the plant where they make them .. regardless he knows what he is talking about as an engineer
yes he is an engineer. engineers are usually pretty specific to what they engineer. for instance and airplane engineer wouldnt know much about helicopter stuff. while they are both flying machines and share alot of concepts.
im sure he is an extremely talented person. its just that i cant see how anyoen can comment on if the pipe is as big as it needs to be without every seeign dynos of one comparing all of them. thats all

i know man, im just trying to make a point that he or any engineer/ mechanic can not say if a pipe size is big enough without a dyno tune. its just not possible. if he hasnt worked with this engine then he cant really say much.
according to your exampel of a car is a car. lets see this:
a shoe is a shoe right? a very very good track star can look at some shoes you are wearing and be like man you dont need better shoes, those are just right, but if he hasnt worn those shoes specifically he cant realy talk. as you may be able to find lighter shoes that would improve your performance while running.
