got to test fit the rear bags today. I had to make one final adj and had to fabricate a Shim in which I can remove for shows so it lays lower.

Here is the stock XB with TRD springs
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v649/eight08customs/2008%20XB%20universal%20air/CIMG0421.jpg

This is something the Gen one didnt have to bolt the top up to the perch with out having to drill any more holes.

Bag Set up Rear

Bag Set up fit right in very easy!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v649/eight08customs/2008%20XB%20universal%20air/CIMG0413.jpg

the bottom mount uses a nut. this was what came with the Universal air kit. Notice how the lower perch is a more solid design than the old XB.

This is the upper shim that i had to fabricate to add the the existing upper mount i already made. it slips right over the top and adds 1 inch.

Ok did more work to the air bags install.. sound kind fo crazy starting at 11pm at night last night working on my car but thats the only time i had the chance to do it or never ever do it.. LOL

Installed the Rack with the compressor, tank and Air and water filter..

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v649/eight08customs/2008%20XB%20universal%20air/CIMG0081.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v649/eight08customs/2008%20XB%20universal%20air/CIMG0082.jpg

Notice the water seperator and filter.. very important must have item that many forget to install becuase it normally doesnt come with the kit.

.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v649/eight08customs/2008%20XB%20universal%20air/CIMG0085.jpg

Than today i had some time in the evening to run someof the wires and some hoses.. I also swapped out the push on type fitting with compresson type. working in the industry those push on type aways fails sooner or later .. the compresson type are the way to go. Also make sure you have a hose cutter it helps make nice cuts on the hoses and eleminates bad cuts and air leaks.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v649/eight08customs/2008%20XB%20universal%20air/CIMG0086.jpg

I teed off the input side to save the number of hoses that would run into the car

almost done guys. everything but the bags in.. all the valves and compersor are functional..

Damm those compressors are loud as hell even with it mounted under the car with one compressor .. with 2 it was event louder..

I havent tried to dump it yet but will run needle vavles to slow the down the air..

it does has some pressure commingout sound like its going to hop. hopefully not ..

MY first Air set up ever so im new to this but i used to be Hawaii's Certified Installer for Reds Hydrulics so its sort of the same but I just want it to move slow up and down..

got the rear bags working!!! amost done..

all the way up

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v649/eight08customs/2008%20XB%20universal%20air/bagsup.jpg

and slammed..

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v649/eight08customs/2008%20XB%20universal%20air/bagsslammed.jpg

thats with out the spacer i added that can be removed.. .. Ill prob shave down the mounts about 1 inch more so that the rim will tuck.. or the shocks bump stops might be the problem.. have to take them out..

Now just have to fabricate the front struts ..

alright im pretty much done.. just a little cleaning up and getting the int back from the upolstry shop..

I had to modifiy the crap out of the front to get it to go lower.. I know my install is pretty much rock solid and done right.

I can go lower if i can find pillowball mounts the fit the new XB.. it will prob bring it down another inch.

the rear Ill just make some minor Adj to get it to go a little lower.. Shorter shocks and removing the bump stop

That's beyond awesome. Good info on the moisture trap. I'm probably going air on my '59 Beetle and people always talk about moisture in the lines. I figured a moisture trap would be an easy fix.
