Default clink clink, whats that sound?

i have hotchkis front and rear sway bars. (not sure if they are the cause but they are there...)

never noticed the sound until about 2 weeks after i had the front and rear sway bars installed...

from the rear of the car, when i go over big bumps, big dips, speed bumps, and some times in turns, i will hear a clink sound, not quite a metal on metal sound, but more then a plastic on metal sound...

i can hear it in my car, i have had friends in my car who could hear it, i had one of them pace me and when i would hear the sound they wouldnt hear anything, so i dont know if it can be heard outside or not..

where should i start looking for issues? it sounds like its more on the drivers side, but some times it will seem like its coming from the passengers side... it almost sounds like my exhaust is jumping in the hangers, but i have magnaflow cat back, and its welded to the hangers, so it cant be that...

ideas?

is it almost like a creaking clink sound?

i had that sort of sound as well. it came from the rear sway bar.

check the bar where the bushing mounts are... mine was not centered properly and was hitting metal. just unbolt it, adjust and re-tighten.

recenter the bar or just the bushing mounts? sorry i paid a shop to install them but would rather fix them on my own... so i dont really know where to start...

jack the car, undo the 4 bolts (2 on each bushing, right? ) recenter, done?

yup. just jack up the rear of the car (or drive onto 2x4's). see if the bar is hitting the metal where the bushings are installed. if it is on either side, undo the 4 bolts, reposition it and re-install. you should be golden after that.

hope that helps

ok, shop is done, they said my sway bar was a little lose and they blamed it on the stock end links used with the hotchkis sway kit... they said if im going to lower it (which i am, on S Techs) then i almost HAVE to get new end links... where can i get those? they arent the same thing as a camber kit?

The stock end links hold up just fine, I wouldn't worry. If you are THAT concerned, Progress provides new end links with their sway bar, maybe you can email em about purchasing just those.

hmm, if they hold up fine with the drop also then its no issue... they guy said teh drop will put the links at even more of an angle... but its possible they just didnt get it tightened all the way the first time...i put about 200 miles on my car before the sound, so maybe they just needed to be retorqued.

thanks!
