Default 2008 Radio Upgrade q's

Greetings!

I am new to the board and am really close to getting an 08 tc (just need to sell my current car) and I have a few questions regarding the upgraded stereo.

It sounded pretty decent when I did the test drive, but as we all know stock systems typically aren't great performers (and at $385 better deals can be had). However, I like the stock appearance and it comes with factory ipod integration which I would lose by switching decks. So. . .

Is it worth keeping/getting the deck for the ipod? Also, how many stations can be programmed with Sirius (my Kenwood holds 24 presets - I have to have Sirius in the car!). Also, how many lines are displayed on the OEL display? I'm not afraid of adding amplifiers, etc., but the upgraded stereo is real appealing to me right now.

As for the Sirius I intend to source the parts online and install myself.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

FYI, I'm coming over from a VW. I can't afford German parts anymore.

1 - You can get ipod capability with just about any new headunit now-a-days.

2- I am not sure how many stations can be preset, but if you have to have it, then beggers can't be choosers. I am sure it's an acceptable amount though.

I don't know about the OEL... I am not even sure what an OEL is exactly.

For the most part, the factory stereo is decent. But if you area a sound junky, I would pass on the upgraded stereo and just get the base. This way you can add a new stereo without having the wire everything up (as if you got NO stereo), and you can get one that suits your needs better.

OEL is actually OLED = Organic Light Emitting Diode display. It's actually a sharper, brighter display than the regular LCD display we have.

Yeah, this is kind of what I've been thinking lately . . .

my 08 came w/ the ipod hook up as well as the chord for it and also a spot for the auxilary. if you open the center console they are mounted in there w/ the ipod chord in the glove compartment.
