TechKnowlEdgy 07-14-2007, 07:38 PM Count me in, I'll never make that mistake again. Water all down the door and armrest on the day I got it because it was raining. :(
eight08customs 07-15-2007, 03:26 AM Ok this may sound like im dumb. but can someone tell me whats the reason for driveing with your windows down when its raining. I fifure the car is new and Has AC. why would you roll your windows down when its raining..
I sell aftermarket parts for the XB nad sold tons of ES window visors for the 1st gen. Only wheni sold it to some one that was from the states there was a complaint about this same issue.. and the window visors didnt work and the rain still came in the car.. IN Hawaii it rains alot off and on and very humid. I told the guy of course rain will get into your car if your windows down.. IS this a Houlie thing to drive with your windows down when its raining?
I never rolled down my windows once yet and i had my car for 2 months.
optikinescant 07-15-2007, 11:37 AM It's a matter of: it rains, it stops raining, water sits on the roof, you take off, make any kind of turn and boom water falls into the windows. I usually despise deflectors, so I'll probably rely on AC more, but with most cars the rain just rolls off and dries up shortly after the rain fall allowing you to throw down the windows and catch some fresh air - something you'll want to wait on for a bit with an xb.
Whispaz 07-15-2007, 03:25 PM havent experienced it yet but i'm sure I'll forget one day and it'll happen to me too

well crap... didnt work at all...... yes I guess those are that expensive.. I have talked to a few xB1 owners who have the JDM's & they said they paid around 200 for theirs too.... so I suspect that's the going rate for the ones from Jay Pan..

WXMotorSports 11-07-2007, 09:48 PM I just talked to Autoventshade as I'm a dealer for them. And, also a site sponsor now. I talked to two different people and they said they have the product now available for the 2008 xB. I'm confirming part #s though as one shows up as the TC (windows can't be the same) and one for 2004-2007 xB. I'm wondering if the windows are the same for both Gen 1 and Gen 2?
Just talked to a tech person there. They have no eta when it will be available for the 2008 model.
rsw1124 11-08-2007, 02:57 AM The windows are different I tried My 1st gen shades on my 08 when I got it and did not fit TOO SHORT!!! 2nd gen is longer than 1st gen..
mnscionxb 11-09-2007, 01:35 AM come on $250.00 is cheep if you want to be cool
give us a link or a # where we can get them .
HapaLynai 11-09-2007, 03:28 AM SinZz already told where he got them from at the other thread. Worried about being "cool" or jealous that an 18 year old has them? Being the immature one, you can't possibly be 42 years old
mnscionxb 11-09-2007, 04:45 AM jealous of ?
postman 11-09-2007, 02:44 PM Weathertech will have in 4-6 months.......Just got e-mail from them :lalala:
jimmbomb 11-09-2007, 07:55 PM cool. let's hope we dont get any rain for 6 months!!!!! jh
rsw1124 11-09-2007, 08:31 PM only rained 3 days in last 3 months here so pretty safe and if they are less then 250. I will be happy to wait for them!!
WXMotorSports 11-10-2007, 03:47 AM Weathertech will have in 4-6 months.......Just got e-mail from them :lalala:
Cool! And, I'm a dealer for Weathertech. I can see a future group buy happening!
vip-bb 11-13-2007, 06:56 AM I think the visors is not just for raining purpose, it can be use for summer heat too.
jimmbomb 03-14-2008, 02:05 AM http://www.weathertech.com/store/mvproduct.aspx?ItemGroupId=4&VehId=1142&Year=2008
Just got off the phone with these folks.. They ship out of Illinois is 3-4 days. & are IN-STOCK. BUT they are only available in "LIGHT" tint.. NOT dark... wwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaa...... She also told me that there are no plans of yet to produce them in "DARK" tint....... The picture shows a generic shot NOT on a 08, but the part number is DIFFERENT from the 04-06's xBs... so she assures me that they are the real deal for the new body style... so ......... There you go...... Pesonally I am waiting for dark ones...... good luck.. jh
boooosty 03-14-2008, 03:56 AM If the price is right, I might buy these and tint them with 5% film :silly:
randomsuper 03-14-2008, 03:59 AM how light is the light tint? i only had my front windows tinted to match the rest of the windows so if it'll match that then i'm in.
rswscion08 03-14-2008, 12:15 PM I am waiting for someone else to get and post them this time. Burned once like that but not twice still waiting for refund from Autopartswarehouse ona Set of"2008 Visors"
postman 03-14-2008, 02:40 PM Better to wait til dealer gets in stock.........
jimmbomb 03-18-2008, 02:10 AM Well , I'd like to get them,. BUT I wonder if the 'light' tint job would look dookey on our Nautical Blues with the Black window trim?? What do you guys think.. Hold out for darker smoked tint or will the lighter gray tint look ok on this ride????? Please reply with your opinions.. All replies & comments are welcomed & encouraged... Light gray or dark smoke??? thanks to all who reply.... jh
xseveredveganx 03-18-2008, 02:19 AM Depending on how stiff they are or what they're made of, you could possibly tint them with the VHT niteshades taillight stuff.
Just an idea, ya know.
jimmbomb 03-18-2008, 02:25 AM is that spray on stuff??? wont all the wind eventually wear that stuff off?? asking cause you know, they'l be 'in the wind' full time..... thanks.... jh
xseveredveganx 03-18-2008, 02:29 AM That's why you spray it on the INSIDE, bro!!
jimmbomb 03-18-2008, 02:36 AM godddammmmmm !!! you are a freaking U-Genious!!!, xserveredvaganx!!! I would have never thought of that!!! Dammmn I glad I know you!!!!.,. thanks!!!!. I am gonna cal my tint guy & see if he can tint these boys with film... or do you think that will peel out over time, being exposed & all.. (from the inside) of course!! hahhahaha man I dum.. jh
xseveredveganx 03-18-2008, 02:53 AM godddammmmmm !!! you are a freaking U-Genious!!!, xserveredvaganx!!! I would have never thought of that!!! Dammmn I glad I know you!!!!.,. thanks!!!!. You could possibly use tinted clearbra. Regular tint would probably work better because of all the curves. I'd probably let them sit out in the sun, uninstalled, for a little while to make sure the tint is 100% stuck on. Only thing with regular window tint is keeping ammonia based cleaners away from it. From my understanding, ammonia is tint's worst enemy. It'll peel the tint right off. But I'm not sure if any regular cleaning products actually have ammonia.
jimmbomb 03-18-2008, 02:58 AM well my tint guy says NO WAY! You cant use film tint on plastic. her says that when the plastic gets hit by the sun, it emits some gass(I forget the name) & it causes the film to bubble up & it wont last even a year..... sio I will look into that spray on stuff, exerv.......... thanks for the 'tip'... anyone else with an idea??? or should I leave it light tint??? jh
Whispaz 03-18-2008, 03:03 AM spray on tint.... VHT Niteshades
xseveredveganx 03-18-2008, 03:11 AM The best tip I have, is to not even get the things.
I just don't find them cool or aesthetically pleasing. Just me, though.
alfundo 10-31-2008, 06:00 PM but they are functional
