Default Stock HU/Audio Problems?

I have had this happen to me a few times...

I'll be driving around bumpin' a little and then all the sudden, it will sound like I lose something in my audio.

What?

First time...I said..well, its a fluke incident.
Second time...I said..well, its a 2nd freak thing.
Third time or so..I began to question it.

I do not recall doing anything different. Every time this happens I am just driving along listening to music. (obviously )

Then, it randomly happens.

It sounds like I went from the stock Scion HU with a sub to...well...a stock Honda with a smaller sub. What I mean is..it all the sudden sounds dull. Like going from the stock tC speakers to the $5 specials made of paper.

Few things...
1. ASL is completely off
2. Sub is mounted so it cannot move and cause a short or whatnot
3. Stock Ipod HU, Stock speaks
4. Effects Ipod and CDs (thought it might be Ipod encoding change)

Any suggestions?

Mine kind of does that sometimes too.
Except it's not always when I'm driving, sometimes I just start it up and it turn it up a little and it sounds dull. I listen to metal and stuff, so you can really tell that it sounds dull.
I thought my car was the only one that did it. lol
