Just gapped/installed new plugs, did I make a mistake?
Hey all, quick question since this is the first time I've changed plugs in my xA (30k miles) I know the gap on the NGK's are supposed to be .032, but I went with Autolite Platinums (AP3924) just to see if it runs any different/better fuel economy as it has been down lately. The Autolites show as gapped at .044 out of the package.
I adjusted them to about .032(.034) but now I am second guessing if I should have just left them at the stock gap.
Anyone able to offer me advice? I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

You need anough gap to carry a spark under higher cylinder pressure. TOo big of gap and the spark will be weak, too small of a gap and it will wear out the plugs faster. I dont believe you can go wrong with the stock gap. Ive heard both figures thrown around this forum, so if it does well with the bigger gap, I would stick with it. If the performance seems less, I would close the gap.
