View Full Version : Dropped off for R&D at AEM for CAI!
bb_ist 08-09-2007, 04:00 AM Today, I just dropped off my xB for CAI R&D at AEM factory. They said that they'll be putting in a dyno with the CAI upon installation.
I'll be getting back my car on Friday so I'll post dyno result if I get a copy...
BPowder 08-13-2007, 08:37 PM Any word, on a dyno?

AEM is proud to introduce its Cold Air intake system for the 2008 Scion xB (part# 21-577)! The largest power gains are 6.8 horsepower and 7.3 lbs/ft of torque as measured at the wheels on the company’s Mustang dynamometer. This system is available with our new gun metal 2-stage powdercoat or mirror-polished finish.Dyno results and a description of AEM’s dyno and temperature testing procedures are on the company’s website at www.aempower.com .

Haha, they probably got that info from my car :P
TechKnowlEdgy 08-21-2007, 12:24 PM Got a quick email response from the VP of Marketing, it won't be available till September.
RiCe3aTeR 08-26-2007, 10:34 PM I dropped my car off with them back in June. The intake sounds great....they just never put my car on the dyno b/c I hadn't broke in the engine yet. Let me know what the dyno results are.
Pics are from my cell, so they aren't that great, but here they are

cincinfocal 08-27-2007, 10:09 PM ^^ can you answer the question of this being 50 state emissions legal? i know the original box has that charcoal like filter in it for emissions...how does this compensate for it?

Since each and every state has their own emissions standards, this is almost impossible to answer. Since it is not altering the catalytic converter, which is the most heated form of controversy with respect to emissions, I do not forsee it being illegal.

In CA, it doesn't matter if it affects how it runs or not, if it doesn't have a CARB EO#, its not legal. Plain and simple.
bb_ist 09-05-2007, 01:18 AM Just picked up the intake today. Will post some pics later tonight!

If your so worried about it being carb legal then go trd. but if you want more power then go AEM.
SRT4Erik 09-07-2007, 09:17 PM I was merely stating legality. AEM usually ponies up the $$$ to get that cert as well.
