Hey guys, my storage place (an unoccupied house in Issaquah) was burglarized sometime between Sunday afternoon and Tuesday morning. I haven't taken a full inventory yet, but the 3 things I first noticed missing are:

-between 20 and 50 rounds of 7.62x39 ammunition (designed for AK47 and SKS rifles)
-a xtant x1244 subwoofer, still in box (box may have a shipping label with my name and Sammamish address on it)
-shuttle xpc barebones system (case only). don't remember the model number, but it's designed for a socket 478 pentium 4 (new in box)

I've been searching on craigslist and ebay, but no dice so far. I'll definitely be hitting pawn shops in the area this weekend as well. For everyone else living in King County (especially in Issaquah, Kent, Renton, and Tukwila), please let me know if you come across anyone trying to offload the subwoofer or the shuttle xpc (maybe on an internet forum somewhere?). It's not everyday you come across an x1244 subwoofer, or an obsolete shuttle pc that's still new in box - I'm hoping this will make it easier to track down.

These thefts pretty much kill/significantly delay my car audio upgrade as well as my car pc project. At this point I think I'm going to hang up my modding towel for good - these were the last two mods I planned to do, and I can't afford to replace those items - all of my income is paying off my travel loans and tuition.

I'm heading back out tomorrow to do a full inventory. I'm gonna be ____ed if they took my original NES and Genesis systems...

 

That sucks dude, I know how it feels too. Will keep an eye out here, usually it is someone local, and will eventaully get caught trying to hock it or get caught w/ it.

BTW why do you have AK47 ammo, and why is it part car upgrade?

wow that really sucks, there have been a few burgluries in our neighborhood lately as well, and the worst part is it is when people are still home.

I have been told there is a rash of burglaries in that general area of east bothell and issaqua as of late, and the police really are not sure what that is attributed to other than maybe new senior dares. Or at least that is wht they told us the other night when they hit my neighbors house while they were watching tv.


I know that this information does not help you at all but just some information, oh and we are having an alarm system intalled today......

 

did any other homes in the neighborhood get broken into? if not, sounds like they've been scoping out your unoccupied house for a while

 

Sorry to hear about your loss Alex, hope you find your stuff. If it is a house and you have home owners insurance they will pay to replace your stolen stuff. Make sure you file a police report. If you are renting and have renters insurance they will also cover your stuff.

Nope. And yeah, they have been scoping it out for a while for sure. This is the 5th time someone has broken into one of the buildings (there are 5 seperate dwellings...all UN*occupied) on property this year. I've been trying to get the homeowner to invest in some additional security measures, but they've been slow to act. I work in the security industry and I can tell you this is painfully typical.

Haha....no insurance. There's nothing valuable enough on property for the cheapskate homeowner to justify paying for insurance. A report was filed and we are getting a lot of support from Issaquah PD. Since the house is located in an out-of-the-way area, they volunteered to sit and keep watch on slow nights/while they do paperwork/etc (try asking Seattle or Renton to do that for you...they'll laugh in your face). 5 time it's been hit this year and the 4th time this summer...they're guaranteed to come back.

You may want to look into a renters policy for yourself they run $10 a month, or less I had one for my apartment that was $98 for the year and covered up to $20,000 in property. The best part about it was I got a multi policy discount on my car insurance that was 10% off, so by adding the renters policy I saved $250 a year off my car insurance rate.

It also protects you incase your place burns down, or you accidentally start a fire, or if someone gets hurt at your place due to your negligence and a lot more.
