Regarding the bypassing
I understand some of you including me want to bypass the video thing while driving, but think twice. Excuse me, I am talking to the boys, not girls (please don't read on), suppose a girl gives you a BJ while you drive, that can easily takes your eyes off the road and watch her head moves up/down and then BAM! So what's the difference between this and watching video/nav while driving?
Please think about innocent people involved in car accidents; their family, their kids and friends. That's what our governments and the manufacturers are concerned about.
So I am not gonna bypass the whole thing. Thank you very much.
BTW, the video will still work in the back seats anytime (legally) so...

People still seem to think driving and talking on the phone is safe as well.. so dont expect them to listen on this either. Anyone not living in a cave knows how terribly unsafe (about as bad as driving drunk) talking on the phone and driving is, but I have trouble finding people NOT doing it during rush hour. Just doesnt make sense. And watching TV while driving.. well that is just obviously not a smart thing to do... anyone knows that, but people will do it anyway.
But you may want to shy away from the overly crude on here, since I am sure there are plenty of people that dont care for that kind of talk on the forum. I could care less, but I am sure others do.

I didn't do the bypass to watch videos....never have. I did the bypass so I can change my navigation while I am driving and I don't consider that being a hazard on the road. If you want to consider that dangerous, think twice before you look down at your cell phone next time, or pick up your coffee, or take a bite of your bagel, or pick up your map. In all of these situations, you are being distracted and wouldn't be able to avoid an accident quite well with a coffee in one hand and the other on the steering wheel. So unless you are telling me that your hands never slip for 10 and 2, changing the nav destination is far less dangerous and sipping coffee, eating something, reading a map, doing your makeup, yelling at the kids in the back seat, watching a video, answering your cell phone, etc. Unfortunately, we have distractions when we drive.
might want to watch "then world according to garp" (old movie). interesting scene involving those "extracurricular activities" u describe happening in a car. some people tend to bite down when in a car accident. might b wise to not to have anything u don't want to lose in her mouth...
back on track tho. i have my ddx7019 hooked up to play dvd's while driving, but usually its just south park, so i shut the door. that way i can listen to eric farting, but don't have the distraction of watching kenny die.....

I dont touch my phone in the car and dont read a map in the car. And I LOVE our corporate policy: You answer a business call in your car, find a new job.
Now, if you want to say that taking a drink of a pop is as dangerous as looking at a video screen or talking on the phone... well that is just as incorrect as can be. Obviously people get thirsty at some point.. minimizing the drinks and not drinking out of a ridiculous 64oz cup you cant see around is the solution there. And no, I dont eat hamburgers while driving either

Man I can barely watch a movie sitting on the sofa......add a burger and a drink and a phone call and I am heading for trouble
Imagine the ticket.......violation.......cell phone usage.....eating.....drinking.....watching a movie......and of course Bill Clintons that is not sex.....cigar anyone.....

90% of the time I'm driving I don't even watch the video - it's just a novelty feature ( I burn Music Vid DVD's) unless I'm at an unusually long light my attention is on the road..but from my experience the real danger has come from fellow motorists not paying attention and breking their necks to look into the ride even when just the NAV is on.
when i put a video in i watch it the whole way and i have a ps2 so i can play games at the stoplight. oh and i'll text and call people all the time.
hate to be a ***** but just let it take its course, if people are dumb enough to do it then they'll pay the price, simple as that

I dunno, it just seems like common sense to not watch a video while driving. If people use common sense though in general while driving, less accidents will happen. My point earlier about drinking while driving (not alcohol) is very dangerous because God forbid you have to make an emergency move. Just yesterday some guy pull out in front of me to make a left turn when I am doing 40mph in a 40. If I only had one hand, there is NO chance I could've avoided him. So I do agree that watching movies while driving should not be allowed, but at the same time, nor should it be allowed to eat, drink, do makeup, talk on a cell phone, smoke a cigarette, or anything else. To outlaw one means you should outlaw them all IMO. I think they are all dangerous. But since most are LEGAL, we just need to use more common sense as drivers. If there is nobody on the highway, sure, take a sip of your water, but if you are driving through a heavily congested construction zone with lanes hardly narrow enough to fit your car, then keep both hands on the wheel and save your drink for a bit later....duh!
