BEST TIRES
I have a turbo kit, and was wondering what the best tires would be for the stock rims, the best gripping tires instead of going with a 215 45 i think im gonna go with a 225 45 ?? i was thinking about the nitto gen tires, i dont have lsd soo the tires are critical in launches. i also need this tire for the winter and rain (not a track tire)
You would much be better off sticking to a set of cheap all seasons for the winter, and just going with a summer tire as soon as Febuary hits (Texas weather) On the stock wheels I'd go with a 225/45 either a Falken 615 (the infamous Azeni) or Hankook Rs2's if you get a bit more rain in your area.
Your sacrificing allot of available traction by going with tires that you can also run in the winter since the compound will be allot harder.
my .02 though

yeahh just sux i raced a srt4 kid the other night he was a ____ talker saying my car is for little girls that go to college and i knew my car was faster but he just had me off the line while i sat there and spun 1st 2nd and chirped 3rd soooo much needed lsd soon but thanks for the input guys. i hate crap talkers around here me and my friends almost got in a brawl with them.all i need is too hookup and i should be fine once i get moving.
hmmm, I don't condone street racing but what are you doing racing from a dig on a one legged, FWD, turbo car? Just do 2nd gear rolls and brake boost the hell out of it. Traction issue solved.
But on a serious note, your going to have a hard time finding a sticky tire that you can also run on the winter. Like I said, just get a cheap set of all seasons for the winter, and some really nice summer tires. You'd be set.

anyway, nothing is going to making launching a turbo tc fool proof. not wider tires, not lsd, and not slightly wider tires unless they are sticky summer tires or drag slicks. (not being mean, just trying to give advice.)
now, all these things help to launch the car more successfully easier, but still, most of the work has to be done by you and your pedal work to get the car accelerating as fast as possible from a stop.
so yes, wider sticker tires are a start, but still, alot of the successful launch depends on you.
so the moral is PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!
besides, who cares? srt-4 suck. yeah, the tc is a girl's car, i have girls in mine all the time.
next time he talks poop at you, just hit the switch for your power windows. close your sun roof, and stat playing your nice stereo.

Tires are tricky there is a lot of give and take. Sounds like you want an erasable permanent marker. Ideally you are going to want 2 sets of tires. Tire Manufactures do their best to produce multifunctional tires but with your turbo you are looking at two extremes. 1, you want it sticky so you will hook up and, 2, you want wet and winter traction. Sticky performance tires do not do well in cold weather and a winter tire would burn up before you had a chance to re-fuel if you race a lot. (we do not encourage or condone street racing) If you want a tire that will hook up look at the Falken 615 or the Dunlop Sport MAXX. The 615 might hook up slightly better but the Sport Maxx will definitely perform better in the wet conditions. Neither will do very well in the winter in cold temperatures or on ice or snow. If you are looking for a tire for the winter look at Hankooks ipike W409. This tire is awesome for winter performance. Now I highly recommend buying one set for each function. You won’t be unhappy. But if you don't want to buy two sets of tires, (winter in a month and performance in the spring) look at the Falken 912 for an all season. This is a softer compound all season that will cover as much of the your two extremes as possible however, it is not a race tire nor is it a winter tire. If you buy an all season, you might wish you bought a race tire when that SRT-4 rolls up again, and when you are driving on ice or when it’s cold this winter you will probably wish you had bought a winter tire.
