Default some engine noise???

Looking for your expert help for a noob. A year old XA started to make whistle noise. It often happen when it accelerates after being parked for a while, usually in the morning. But it might as well happen after parking during day time, only less intense. Not only is it annoying but also might do some damage to the engine. One dealership said it is probably a belt, but wanted a car overnight to test. The other said probably rust on generator builds while not moving and wanted to charge for 30 min out of warranty inspection. Both said not to worry. Has such situation developed in anyone’s vehicle? Appreciate kindly advice.

I vote that it's a belt. Is it a squeaking, clacking noise that then goes away? If so, that's a belt and don't worry until your tune-up in 60,000mi.

Thanks sotied. Yes, It is a squeaking. I also think it is a belt, because the noise is coming from the belt location. However resently it has become less intence. Is it covered by the warranty? Sometimes I hear the same noise from other cars on the streets.

Default Bring it in

Best thing to do is just run past the dealer and have them take a quick look.

The last time I went to change oil the dealer noticed the noise and recommended to change the bell. They olso put it on the warranty.
