Default Plastic intake question

How much trouble is it to remove and re-install the intake manifold?

If you get a normal SRI (short ram intake) its very easy. If your going for a CAI (cold air intake) then it takes a little more work. I installed the Injen CAI on my xA and i had to remove the grille, left headlight and front bumper. It was a pain the A$$!! I was used to hondas, which make everything so easy, but scions are smaller, so less working space. If your handy with tools and like doing this kind of work (like me), then go for it, it should take you no more than 1 hr.

are you talking about your air intake or intake manifold cause both are made out of plastic

air intake is super easy phillips, 10mm with extension and pull it out

intake manifold not that hard i belive 10mm with extansion but be carefull cause throttle is connected to it and make sure not to over tighten when putting it back even if it has a metal spacer the plastic can crack and you will have leaks good luck

The intake manifold, I was thinking about getting it chrome plated or painted. I know it is not really chromed, it is called vacuum metalizing, but I think that would look pretty neat.
