Default My Time Attack (street legal)

I started this last Friday after reading online how a tC will be in a time attack event. Well I don't have the cash or time to compete in one of those events. So why not make my own time attack event. From my job to my apartment. Both are right off the Highway. I get off at night when there is not little traffic.

From: Work
To: Home
Distance: 24 miles All HIGHWAY
Speed Limit 55, 65, 45-55 mph
My Speed 0-69 mph

Date:10/19 Traffic: Mid to Light
Lap Time: 00:19:58.69
Split Times: 00:09:51.57
00:15:22.51

Date:10/21 Traffic: Light
Lap Time: 00:18:04.21
Split Times: 00:09:05.31
00:14:29.68

Date:10/22 Traffic Mid to light
Lap Time: 00:19:13.93
Split Times: 00:09:58.30
00:15:41.22

if you do this, remember DO NOT speed over the posted limit, DO NOT driver like an A hole and DO NOT do this on residential streets.

I'm just timing how long it take me to get from my job back home.. I'm trying to see if i use my driving skill to get back home quicker every day. by finding new driving lanes and by trying to avoid slower moving cars. an still not going more then 5 mph over the speed limit..

Even if it is late and there is light or no traffic, I wouldn't recommend anyone trying something like this. It's just not safe, no matter how you try to justify it.

your right 100 percent. I'm not justifying what i'm doing. Just explaining why I'm doing it and sharing it with all.. other they going 4 miles over the speed limit in on section on the highway. Its down hill so i just go with the flow. other then that I keep it at the speed limit. and stay inside my lane. Other then passing a car that is blow my speed and I always pass on the right, If i can't i just don't do it..

I guess another reason i might do this is to keep my self from falling asleep on the ride back home. And looking at the lines and the road and trying to find the best lines keeps me from doing that.

but i know alot of people if not all on her will not understand me on this one.. its ok.. i'll still share with all..

so do you use your cruise control in this time attack?

as far as not being safe haro287, it sounds perfectly safe to me.. just kinda funny .. the OP isnt breaking a sweat on the motor, probally isnt doing 4 lane changes without signaling, and other crazy moves. the only difference between what he is doing and what you do is the small push of a button on a stop watch

no i don't use the cruse control, just cause i don't want to have to keep adjusting it to get up to the speed limit and back down. I just keep glancing down at my speed. everytime i pass a Speed limit sign.

and you are right i don't do crazy lane changes. and fallow all the traffic laws.

hey mac, (this is ben by the way, met you when i bought the mid pipe off fred).

what you can try also (not sure if you'll find it as fun) is some kind of "road rally". establish how long it takes for a certain stretch (or the whole thing) and try to come as close to that time each time you drive it.

whats up ben. How is that exhaust working out for you ??

That kinda what i'm trying now.. I want to see whats the fastest posiable time got from my job to my house doing the speed limit... once i have a few days with around the same time with the same traffic conditions.. I'll take another rout home an and see how long that takes me.
