Is is possible to put a 215 40 18 tire on a XB that has not been lowered? I have 215 35 18s on my car and its too thin of a tire to drive around here. I have motegi MR7s btw. any help would be great. Thanks!

huh??? :?

why in the hell would it NOT be possible???? What in the world does NOT lowering a car have to do with running a low profile tire??? It'll just look like a large wheel well gap is all....

FYI, our fitment team has approved the following 18" sizes for stock XB's as trouble free / rub free fitments. 215/40R18's may be too tall causing some rubbing issues!

215/35-18 & 225/35-18

I was thinking of using 215/40/18's. I have not lowered my xB yet but you believe there will be some issues? I didn't think there that much difference in a 35 to 40 series to cause problems.

FYI, our fitment team recommends the following sizes for non-lowered vehicles:

Tire Size / Overall Diameter
215/35-18 / 23.9"
225/35-18 / 24.2"

The 215/40R18's come in at 24.7" in diameter, so they are a little taller than recommend and may cause some rubbing issues!

Actual tire size vary a lot from brand to brand. Not all 215/38/18 tires have the exact same dimentions. I have 225/40/18 on 18X8 wheels. Mine rub in the front at full lock a bit, but I knew this would happen. I like to have a wide foot print, I think it looks better than tall skinny tires.
