Default 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid for my Tc?

Okay well heres the deal... My "friend" and I have been talking lately and were trying to get all of our finances together. He recently parted ways with his BM and is now paying off all her debts. When she left she left the car he bought her a 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid. Its fully loaded Nav Leather seats the works! Ive been in it and I really like it. Well in a few months all her debt is going to be paid off and he wants to get another Escalade (he owned a truck last year) and he wants to trade in my car and give me the Camry to drive and put it in my name. It will be paid off in a few months and my car is already paid off.

What does everyone think? Honestly I am really thinking about it because my job takes alot of driveing and sometimes to far places and I go home every other weekend about 2 hours away. It gets 40 mpg and my car only gets 23 mpg.

So lemmee know please

It sounds like you shouldn't be making this decision on the merits of MPG or the features. It should be more on your financial standing and what makes the most economical sense. Unless you drive so much that gas mileage has become a financial consideration, it really shouldn't matter.

Your 19 and about to drive a family sedan. Don't do it! I think you will end up hating your decision. But...that is just my opinion :D

I HATE HYBRID CARS!

if it were me, i'd trade in the camry and use that money to put all those things you like, leather, navigation whatever into your tc. only camry i would consider trading for my tc is the v6, but since it doesn't come with a manual, no dice.

and the tc is small and nimble, gets decent mpg and has a solid drivetrain. the camry is big and extra heavy with all that extra hybrid drivetrain.

JUST SAY NO TO HYBRIDS!

Camrys eat up the miles in a relaxing comfy way and its a hybrid and gets great mpg. Win win. Main thing tho is if ya like it. That makes all the difference in the world. Even if ya turn out not to like it, would be easy to trade it in on something else since its paid for. Make damn sure that you know without a doubt that the Camry is paid off and get it in your name BEFORE you turn in your car for his Escalade. Never trust family or friends when it comes to money. lol

I know the sound of Hybrid makes me hurt but He is really into it and he is waiting for the Hybrid Escalade. And yes in Property management I do drive everywhere! The thing is, is that my TC already has nav, leather and almost everything imaginable. The only thing I havent done to my car is body and drive parts. I know im only 19 but I have pretty much out grown my young years and I have 2 step kids and I take clients in my car so I want to be presentable and not look like I just got done raceing the kid down the street.

I think the one thing that turned everything around for me is when I was in a parking lot in Mira Mesa with some clients surveying the property and all these guys came up to me and were like let me check out your ride have you done this and that....i was kinda embaressed to be quite honest.

bah! be proud of your tc! i love it when people check mine out. feel their jealous eyes. and you are only 19, you should have plenty more years to be immature. and the tc can be very nice looking and respectible, just depends on how you modify it.

ouch

Your Camry Hybrid actually gets 40mpg?!??! Tht was the old EPA rating, but with the new more realistic testing methods that are used on the 2008 model years, the Camry Hybrid only achieves a 33 City and 34 Highway estimated miles per gallon. Well that's still better than what the tC gets though....

just out of curiousity what color is the camry?

I can imagine that the tC is more fun to drive, but the hybrid camry is a logical choice from your standpoint. Plus, it has more features like you said than the tC.

Plus, I don't get why you say your friend wants to sell your car for the Escalade. Why can't he just sell the Camry himself that has more value than the tC. It is actually his property and the tC is yours. Or did he offer you a even trade off? You say it like he's giving you no choice.
