Ok I tried searching but..

Our throttles are drive by wire, meaning there is no cable. The cable is what opens and closes the butterfly valve and makes it accessible for cleaning.

How do we get the butterfly open in order to clean it? Put something on the gas pedal while the battery is on? I don't think forcing it open would be a great idea.

thanks in advance.

You could do it both ways, having someone hold the pedal would be the easier way. you could also hold the butterfly open be hand.

One thing you might want to watch out for is letting the throttle body cleaner dry inside the throttle body. It could affect your idle if the cleaner gets dirt stuck in your IAC valve.

thanks for the replies, this is going to be a solo job, so I guess I'll wedge something on the pedal w/ the battery on.
