Default Went to 3 Tire shops.. Cant to alignment on my XB

Since I got the NF210 installed and its been a couple of days, I thought I would bring in the BOX for an alignment. Went to 3 different shops yesterday in the west covina / covina area and non of them had the specs to properly align my car. Went to American Tire, Discount Tire and a local shop. All of them told me the same thing. Since your car is so new and the model the 1st, We have not gotten the specs update on our machine to properly do an alignment. Needless to say I was very disappointed. When I asked when they thought they would get updates, I got the same answer. Check back next week

Anybody else run into this issue?

Anybody know a place in my area to get the BOX aligned? I spent a good part of my day yesterday on the three shops that couldnt. Im tired and short of gas...LOL

I read in another post that someone had there's aligned only to find out they used the 1st-gen xB specs to do it. And someone else (maybe BigFieroMan?) had the Toyota dealer tell him they didn't have specs yet. True it's new, but not that new.

I also have NF's, and unless the tires start to wear bad/wrong I'm not too worried about it (ie. I'm in no rush). If I had DF's or coilovers I'd do it ASAP, but the NF/TRD drop isn't huge.

I was the one that the shop used 1st-Gen specs.

Basically it didn't matter, because apparently the only thing that can be adjusted is the front toe. Camber and caster are fixed, unless you get camber bolts or plates. My front toe was off, and they aligned it to 0.00 degrees. Now that I have driven it, I would like it to have the slightest bit of negative toe for high speed stability. It's not bad, but I think that would make it feel perfect.

Like randomsuper said, do a search on a regional thread; that's how I found Stylis, who installed my springs, and he refered me to a shop that aligns '08 xB's.

Go to the Toyota dealer & ask them for the alignment specs. If they are nice enough they may print it out for you from the Online Repair Manual, which they use now instead of paper ones. Most alignment machines allow for custom alignments where you can enter the specs you want (from the manual printout) & then perform the alignment on the vehicle. Try the dealer first, if they won't give you the printout of the specs pm me & I might be able to get the specs & you can go to any shop.

^^^ good info also it takes a couple of weeks for springs to settle so you might want to wait for alignment

I drive about 80 miles a day for work so I wanted to make sure my alignment is fine now cuz im about ready to get my new set of wheels and didnt want to find out it was off on the new shoes
