Just curious how many people have the clicking/tapping sound in the rear seat latch.
I also heard from the glove box latch as well.
I know there is a dealer fix for it but does not seem to last. I may have a better fix for it. I am going to try it and let everyone know. If it works i may make a kit costing like $3 if anyone interested.
But i need a rough count of this problem to see if its worth it.
And if you fixed it yourself, how did u do it.
I originally put electric tape but i think the latch cut through the tape and i am getting a noise slowly but surely.

I really only hear noise from my rear seats when I have them folded down...
I have isolated the noise to a specific action....
I usually have the car parked, the windows are steamy, the seats make some kind of moaning noise, intertwined with creaking... its really wierd.....

I think I read somewhere that there is a wire that is a little loose that causes the rear seat noise. Also the fix from the dealers was to put a pad around the wire.

I already did that myself I did a "How To"

But it only took care of that minor problem.
The second problem has to do with the rear seats latch.

There's a Toyota Bulletin regarding noise fixes on the xB's: 5 different fixes depending on where the noise was coming from. Some member posted a .pdf of the bulletin, and I printed it out (unfortunately it's at home right now). Fixes were for cowl noise, glovebox noise, rear seat latch noise, rear door noise and one other that I can't remember. . .
I do remember the fix for the rear seat noise involved taking out the covers in the back end, removing the button heads at the bottom of the back side of the seat covers, loosen two bolts (per seat), then simultaneously shove the seats out toward the latches while tightening the bolts. Anyhow, that's what I remember at this point.
I'll try to find that .pdf here on the site in the meantime . . .
