Default xB stalled - should I be concerned?

So I stalled for the first time while waiting in line for the drive through at the bank today. I pulled up, had my foot on the brake, when the car in front of me moved, I took my foot off the brake and noticed I had no power and the engine stopped running.

Shifting to park and turning the ignition, my xB restarted immeadiately and then drove around town without further incident. I have an automatic 2006 xB with just over 23000 miles on it and I'm supposed to drive from Upstate NY to DC tonight.

Should I be concerned?

Should be fine if this is the only time it happened and you haven't had any other problems. I've heard some diagnose a stall from a stop as fuel injector clogging (especially if the car hasn't warmed up) so you may want to dump in a bottle of injector cleaner. Or just fill up with a "top tier" gasoline brand if you haven't been.

I don't think you have to shift to park, you should be able to restart in neutral?

I've killed my car a couple of times before, no problem. It's a 5 speed. It just hurts when i grind the gears. It's like i'm grinding my heart when I hear it. ouch.

Dont be too concerned if it only happenes once in awhile. BTW, do you have aftermarket intake? They usually idle lower than stock, so the engine is more likely to stall out when sitting in D.

Sounds like you might want to do some updating to smooth out that idle quality.
1. engine grounding kit
2. Irridium plugs gapped at .044
3. K&N drop in filter
These 3 things should help your xB idle 100% better and eliminate any stalling. Good luck!

OR. You could just get a bigger engine. The bigger the engine, the more smoother they operate. I learned that from the dodge website. ;)

I hope you are kidding? You haven't seen any V8s with a big cam have you? Maybe he could just swap over to a V16 from a Ferrari. That would be real smooth.

;rofl: big V8's with a large cam has a hard enough time to idle but sounds great while they idle too
