...after re-SEARCHING...yes...yall heard it correct...re-SEARCHING around here on S-L...

...I think I finally got my suspension setup finished. I think am going with the Teins SS-P Coilovers and the Trd rear sway bar. I was going to go with the Hotchkis front/rear set but since the Tc is just going to be my DD, I figured the Trd will do just fine. What do you guys and gals think of this setup? Any flaws (besides my Wallet hurting)? Thanks ahead.

Sounds good. I am guessing you plan on corner balancing it or changing the ride height often... if not, I would not waste the extra money on the adjustable coilovers.

LOL. Never know. My 95 Civic was supposed to be my Daily Driver too, then all of a sudden, first came suspension, then rims, then...all of a sudden...KABOOOM...fully built motor pushing 250 whp (could had been more :P ) out of a Sohc d16z. So, you know.

why not

Hehheh. 8)

yeah, why not? What if he wants that super stiff spring rate the Tein SS gives you? What if he wants struts that are meant for the springs? What if he's like me and has a lot of weight in the trunk and normal lowering springs will leave the car sagging in the back? I'm going to do coilovers and once I get to an ideal ride height I'm going to leave it. I'm also not going to bother with corner balancing. I'm just going to set everything up to sit level and even. At one time I was thinking about getting the Hotchkis springs on some Koni yellows, but the prices wouldn't be much less than the Tein SS-p coilovers, so I was like "why not".

Peace.

Because you spend more money on something you will never use unless you change ride height a lot or corner balance it properly.

Good point. Although, I think its better to have something and never use it then to dont have it and want to use it. Right?

If you want a DD that handles great, I say do it. Don't worry about it only being a DD.

having things you don't use = waste of money IMO

Our point is that if you arent going to take advantage of that extra handling (aka corner balancing and tuning it), you are probably just as good , or better, off buying a set of springs with the drop and rate you are looking for and calling it done. You really arent going to get that extra handling that adjustable coilovers get you unless you actually take time to tune the setup properly.

If the coilovers are just what you want, then go for it. We are just making suggestions on the side of getting what you are paying for. No bashing intended, in case it is being taken that way :)

Just to add to engifineers' last post. You can do whatever you like, its your car but obviously you wanted opinions. I personally think its a waste of money when you can have the same ride quality with a different set up without the adjustable ride height. You also did say this though....

Any flaws (besides my Wallet hurting)? Thanks ahead.

Im not criticizing at all just stating my opinion. Either way have fun upgrading your suspension should always be first.

I would go for it. If you don't mind dropping some change to get them. Why not buy one of the best coils for daily driving? Tein ssp :)
