finaly, some freakin mods! *NEW PICS BOTTUM OF PAGE 2!!*
so i've been thinking about doing atleast something to my TCM xB. i was rather bored today so i went down to the local autozone and picked up some flat black lac. paint and some clear coat, some ultra fine sand papper and a rough sand faberic sander.
the target, painting the spoiler and front top grill in a flat black with clear coat finish.
right now i have both up and drying at the moment, they are spotless with a nice clean spray, no over spray or drip points what so ever. theres about 4-5 total coats of black before the clear coat. the spoiler still needs a clear coat, i'll be starting on that in about an hour. tomorrow i'm going to put another clear coat and then do a clear coat on the mid and bottum grill pieces to match with the top grill piece.
later i'm going to pull the door handles and the gas cover and do the same thing. so far it's looking pretty freakin sexy. i'll have pics up in a couple days.

Imo, don't do the fuel door...
I think that this is one thing that looks hideous on vehicles, a gas door thats painted a different color or chromed. Looks dumb like those fake Buick portholes that some are putting on their cars...
oh nono don't ge me wrong it's nothing like that, it's just to add more black to the TCM.
Results thus far will be suprisingly good. to be honest, i've never done this before but have read up on techniques on doing simular home-done painting. i cleaned each piece before hand and blow dried the water off. after each layer to make the job a bit quicker, i blow dry-heated the paint for a quick cure so that there wouldn't be any drips. spoiler was done hanging from a hook so it's an even spray all around it. i DID have a slight problem on the top side of the spoiler, paint begane to run on me but i was able to fix it like it never happened and is looking like a good clean job. i also did a clear coat on the black part of the front emblem, took the emblem off, taped off everything but the black part and clear coated it to match the grill.
i know what you mean with the gas cover and i've done several photoshot'ed images to see what this whole settup would look like in diffrent angles before i started and it'll look very nice for sure.

ok so the only TRUE thing i am REALLY proving here is that my camera is a piece of crap and can't seem to take clear pictures anymore *let a freind borrow something and you get it back in odd conditions...*. these are some quick pics, once it's all put back togethere i'll have a freind of mine do some good shots for me to get a real good clear look.

Grill installed, mid and bottum grills already clear coated for a matching finish. spoiler is gona have to wait until tomorrow or the next day for installation cause i used several layers of clear coat so it's still curing.

i used flat black lacquer type paint and then an acrylic clear for the clear coat witc gave it a slight glossy finish.
i went ahead and installed the spoiler, i'll get some pics up here shortly.

i'll go down today and take some new shots at the park and get some high post angles so the spoiler can get in there too. a little hard to capture the spoiler now that it's black when taking pictures.
