Aftermarket Tires
Ok... I posted a similar question in the wheels and tires forum, but I figured I'd get more answers from other tC folks. Anyway, I'm looking to get new tires because I live in Seattle and drive to the mountains a good bit in the winter. These RE92s suck when it's wet and I don't even want to know what they do in the snow.
Anyway, I'm shopping for new tires, and I'm probably either going to get the Pirelli PZero Neros or the Continental ContiExtremeContacts. The questions for you are:
1. Does anyone have either of these (or any others) that they really like or dislike?
2. Did you buy them locally or online? I'm really torn on what to do because it's like 80-200 more to get them locally, but there is no support if I buy them online. Are people having trouble with the tires from online? I know someone who has the Pirellis had problems with them being defective...

That's some pretty pricey rubber. I'll assume it rains a lot in Seattle, so I'd recommend an ultra-high performance all-season like the Yokohama ES100 or Toyo Proxes 4. Both come in the stock size and should have a lot better grip than the RE-92's.
Hi there,
I recently traded in my original bridgestone re92 for Yokohama ES100. up a size 225-45-17.... Yokohama is way better than re92... highly recommeded the yokohama...
From my research... the ES100 is not too good in snow... you might want to do your own research... I live in So. Cal. the tire is excellent for me.... Good in rain too... I don't go any place that got snow... es100 is excellent for me.
Good luck.
