Default Got a new box building program... gotta question though.

I ordered that box building program off of ebay that I posted about a little while back called ProBox5.0. Here is my problem though. When I try to install it it says "c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt The system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft applications. Choose close to terminate this application." What does this mean and what do I do?

It means that program is VERY VERY old and with XP not offering MS-DOS anymore you will need to find something like a windows 98 pc and it will probably work.

Thanks, got it working on our older computer. Still not sure on how to use it yet. You can enter in your subwoofers parameters that aren't on there but it asks for a Z spec what ever that is. I'm getting diff box volume's then what the manufacturer recommends though. Is this normal? Shouldn't they know what's normal.

Consumer-available programs like what you have use a T/S Parameter model to predict the subwoofers performance in a given enclosure. This type of model can get you in the ball park, but cannot accurately predict how the speaker behaves dynamically. Some manufacturer's specs are based on "real world" testing, some use much more advanced prgrams that account for inductance (some do both). Only one manufacturer can measure a speaker dynamically before it's built using proprietary programs. Bottom line is, go with the manufacturer's spec when in doubt.
