Default Anyone do HID foglights??

I got my 4300k kit from Clifford at MobildHID.com, to replace my fogs. Has anyone done this and is there at DIY on how to do to it? I searched and can't find one for the fogs.

Do I have to take off the bumper to get to those stock bulbs to replace them with the HID's??

I already did my headlights (easy) and I want to do my fogs this weekend.

Thanks in advance for any info...

ive done it. you can swap out the bulbs without taking off the bumper but i dont know how youre gunna wire it up to the bulb to the ballast with those short wires... for me i took off my bumper and tied it to the side of the crash beam.

ive swapped them out to 3000K since i took those pics. it just made sense to me that fogs should be yellow. but soon they will be back to 6000K cause bathing the ground with yellow is just not the same as lighting up the entire freeway

HID's.. for fog lights? doesnt that defeat the purpose of fog lights?... guess you're going cosmetic, or for some extremely bright view in front...

Thanks for the info and the pics miketf1....

I figured I was going to have to take off the bumper to wire it up. I usually don't like taking body panels off, but it seems like there is no other way.

hmm.. since I got to take the bumper off anyway....I wonder what other mods I should do at the same time??

ideas anyone??

I haven't put them in yet myself. We have a high & low already (you will definitely want to replace both), so worst case is that you might need to change the electrical connectors on the ends of the stock horn wires. My guess is that most horns use the same connectors; either way, not a big deal.

Bigfieroman, how did it go when you replaced yours?

hahaha unfortunately it doesnt project as far as the low beams but its just kinda cool ya' know? but when the fog does roll in the HIDs are damn brighter than the halogens!

trust me the bumper isnt that hard to remove. ~4 bolts on the top, 8 screws on the bottom, 2 screws on the side, and a handful of clips/pins. if you want detailed instructions take a look in the fog light install guide that toyota provides. its got pics and everything!

The stock horn connectors just plug into the aftermarket horn, no wiring necessary. I did have to fabricate some brackets to get the big aftermarket horns to fit, however.

Thanks for your help Bigfieroman, I was wondering about the fit myself.

I had a pair of these 130db FIAMMs on a motorcycle 25 years ago... talk about LOUD!
