Default steering wheel swaps from other toyotas etc and airbag

I want a leather steering wheel or at least something with a bit more size. The Corolla S steering wheel would be sweet and I noticed even the stock Yaris wheel has larger grip diameter and more sculpted but no one seems to know what fits and what is interchangable-ANYBODY?

On after market wheels without the airbag whether momo, sparco or whatever what has to be done as far as tha airbag wiring? Will the car still start and run without the airbag being installed and if there is just a warning light is there anyway to get it to turn off?

Thanks

I have been looking at the xB leather wheel but they are somewhat hard to come by and I am not sure I like the way they look-I don't really want red and I am not crazy about the grey.

I have seen the corolla wheels installed on an xB and if you get the one with two plugs on the air bag it drops right in and hooks up.

Now there is two issues with doing this.
-First they have the cruise control **** hanging off of them.
-Second is that no one that I know of has crashed with one on to see if the bag works or not.

Do you know if it has to be a certain year to year swap? I have a 2006 made int 10/05 so do I need a wheel from an 05 or 06 corolla or does it matter as long as it's the same generation?

greybox, you could always pick up the leather wheel and dye it to match the stock one. There are lots of them out there cause Scion donated many to be given away at meets and Scion events. They were also donated to clubs to be used as free swag.
The current prices for them are around 100 bucks. Put a "Wanted" ad up and you will see how may are up for sale.

That was one of the first things I thought of too but I have seen and dealt with some leather dye issues (spotting, uneven coloring and the way it sometimes stains your hands).
I appreciate the input and might end up doing it anyway but I just wanted to know what options there were besides the stock scion leather one and what people knew about interchangable ones.

I stick with the Duplicolor spray dye for great results. Usually 3 even coats cover completely and have never had blotchy finishes or dye on my hands.

The tC wheel fits xBs-that is so cool. How about the trun signal off switch-dangler thingy and the airbag?
