xb2 alarm install " Hey Bigpapa"
orry to bug you but from reading your posts you seem to be the most knowledgeable about XB2 alarm installs. Im installing a hornet 727T and a 508D in an '08.
Here's my questions, When connecting the 12V, Ign, and Starter does it matter which of each of the 2 I splice in to or is the use of diodes necessary? Should their be 2 fuses on the red 12v wire?
I would appreciate the help. Thanks for your time.

doesn't matter which of the 2... just make sure your 12v constant (red) goes to a 12v constant in the car, make sure the ignition (yellow) goes to a switched ignition (off with key, 12v in ign, and start positions) and the starter will be the bigger of the 2 starter wires.. no need to use diodes... you do not HAVE to fuse twice.. but if you want to you can... just the closer to the source of power the safer you are..

red goes to the biggest WHITE wire in the ignition harness
yellow goes to the GRAY wire in the ignition harness
there is no starter connection to be made on this system unless you wire a relay off the ORANGE ground while armed output to do a starter kill (which I highly recommend).
Be careful with this install. It's not a traditional alarm. It's what we call a "piggy-back alarm", meaning this system integrates with the door lock motor wires to arm/disarm using the factory remote. You will also need to hook up a "disarm defeat" wire for the system to learn and function correctly. Normal alarms that come with their own transmitters do not require these connections to be made, plus you will get better range and more auxilary outputs using one of those systems (ie: Viper 350HV).

this alarm came with the starter relay already wired so i will connect to the larger of the starter to the relay.
I went with this alarm based on cost and what i need immediately.
I need something to protect some new audio gear i am installing.
It cost $75 total with the 508d.
Im going to add a battery back siren later.
thanks
