power pulley problems?

Default power pulley problems?

Hi guys i know if i get power pulleys on my tc itll void my warrenty but blah haha... but i was just wondering if anyone has had problems with their pulleys lately? because my brother had a 98 accord had a nst pulley and i think he said it totally screwed up his altenator so are power pulleys risky? any info would help .....and yes i tried to search nothin came up thanx SL tc's an auto tho = [

Underdrive pulleys can cause undue stress on the alternator due to the change in relative rotation speed of the belt.

sorry im new to car tuning wats that mean in lamens terms? haha sorry man! i was thinking about getting a nst pulley kit i have megan mid pipe skunk2cat back and invidia s-pipe if that helps any?

Basically the "underdrive" means the pulley is smaller. There are other pulleys available that accomplish the same effect but are the same size as the stock pulley. To do this they are made from much lighter metals. I have one in my car, it was a big difference. The stock pulley in my car was 5.2lbs, the Perrin lightened crank pulley is 1lb!
