Excessive Clutch Noise
Hey guy's!
I need some input here. Over the last few months I have been having an increasing issue with my clutch.
Last July I installed a Spec Stage 2 Clutch and A new flywheel in preparation for future upgrades. That upgrade is right around the corner in the form of the turbo.
The issue I am having is this.
When I release the clutch pedal in first gear to get the car moving, I get this horrid groaning and howling noise from the transmission. I know it has to do with the clutch.
I release at 1500 RPM (stock release speed) and under initial torque the noise is present. This is true for Reverse, and First Gear. Any other gear changes and the howling is not present. The noise is also present when taking off from a hill.
This noise is also accompained by a light vibration in the clutch pedal during the noise.
The throwout bearing does not make any noise when depressed in neutral, no bird chirping or anything. I do get a hum during shifting through all gears and I am sure this is just the throwout bearing contacting the heavy duty pressure plate.
What I need to know is:
Is this a faulty throwout bearing? (bearing was replaced with a new one on install)
Or is this a severe case of clutch chatter?
Either way I look at it, I will have to drop the transmission to replace the effected parts. And I want to do this before I put my turbo in.
Your input is highly appreciated in this case, and the more the merrier.

Possible for a new throwout bearing to go out? unlikely......but I have seen it. Did you do the install? did you take a torque wrench to the pressure plate bolts, flywheel bolts?
I did the install myself and torqued everything down to Toyota specs.
Regardless of what the issue is, the clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, and flywheel are being replaced tomorrow. :D
