Default In-Dash Nav systems that are not from Scion...

Does anyone prefer a type of in-dash nav system that actually works, unlike scion disaster of a Nav?

I'm looking at Kenwoods and Pioneers. Will they fit in an '08 xB double din slot?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Kenwood DNX7100 or greater model.

I have had 3-4 different all in one units over the last 2 years and the kenwood all in one screen hands down is the best I have had.

i chose kenwood because it uses the Garmin NAV interface which is very intuitive. Also easier to upgrade as Garmin will continue to stay in this game, who knows if the scion one will ever get updated...perhaps they use navtec maps, but i'm not sure.

i chose kenwood because of the garmin integrated nav unit. im familiar and keen on garmin and like nor_cal_xb2 said, updates are available. i chose the cheaper kenwood nav which is the dnx5120 about 580-600 on ebay's cheapest.

Eclipse AVN-5500. Plug N Play, can't get more simpler than that...

I'd go with Kenwood.

I just put a DDX512 in my car and am in love.

Kenwood for sure. The simple fact that they use Garmin nav, which is hands down the best out there. Check out the dnx-5120 for an affordable, but great, option.

Depends how much work you want to do. I have the eclipse 6610. Its plug & play & uses the OEM plugs. The ipod add on is great as is the blue tooth. I find it very easy to use.
HAs a lot of audio flexibility.

Not for sure, but wouldnt you only need to buy a wiring harness to make it so you could use the DNX7100?

I would guess, you could simply plug the scion harness into the kenwood harness, then you are good to go, dont have to hack into any of the wires at all. I would imagine thats pretty plug n play too...

my only question, for both systems, will the stearing wheel volume/menu/track buttons still work?

Default Nav System

Go with the new Pioneer AVIC700 or 900. They will be shipping to dealers in a few weeks. Nav is flash, no DVD, has bluetooth and the kitchen sink! It will fit like a glove.
