So, anyone have any "booboos" to report on their xD's?


I do! Somone swung their door in to the rear drivers side fender and gave me a dent. I'm so f'king ____ed! Wish I could find them and put a dent in their head.

 

i got a mm sized rock chip on the edge of my hood

 

i've got several chips on the hood.

 

Chips on the hood, and bumper.. cheap aaasssss paint. Car is at the body shop now getting the rear bumper and two passenger doors reshot because some kid hit a baseball into the doors...and while my car was at my local dealer someone bumped into the rear bumper and put screw indentations into the paint. Hopefully I get it back tomorrow or Thursday. :D

 

Same with me.... The front of this car is a rock magnet. One small rock chipped the paint and put a small crease on the edge of the hood. Bummer!

 

Cheap scion paint ftl.... I don't even tail gate, so I couldn't imagine how bad the front end is on any scion that tailgates

 

yea thats why i park all the way in the back of any parking lot. Its easer to walk than to repaint a dent.

 

I still park in the way back and someone parks next to me!

The front end of the xD is pretty big compared to most cars hence all the rock chips. However, the new paint any car maker uses is cheaper all around because of the new stupid EPA standards. Sure its better for the environment, but I don't think they thought about the upkeep costs for owners whose paint goes to ____ in less than a year

 

I have a chip in the windshield that I got the day I bought the car on the way home. Thankfully it has not gotten any bigger and it's been about 6 months.

 

Why are you guys complaining about rocks chipping your paint and windsheild dents? Chelsea is mad because a person did damage to her car, not mother nature. As for me, I'm pretty cautious opeining my door at parking lots. I hold the door by the edge so if my door does hit the other car, it hits my hand.

I use to not care about denting other people's door when I got my license when I was 17. But one day while I was driving my Honda Tin Can (Civic) to PepBoys to replace a broken headlight, I dented a Lexus at the lot and a huge African American male came rusing out of the store. He made a scene, threatening with vulgar, and wanted me to admit I hit his door. So I apoligized and now I have more respect for other property.

 

Booboos are booboos Doesn't matter if a rock hit you or not, it's still a PITA to fix. :?

Sadly not everyone is kind enough to slowly open their doors with their hands on the edges or not.

 

my car has a broken bumper, shorter bumper support, left headlight has two broken mounts in which one I fixed so the light stays, etc, etc

I am with you I have a nice dent in the passenger rear door from some idiot opening there door into it. It put a dent in my door about the size of a dime. It makes me so mad I also park in the back of the lot and it seems someone always wants to park next to me.

I also have some minor rock chips in the front of the hood, hopefully my stripes will cover them when they get installed.

 

Self inflicted wounds are the worse-

I clearbra all my cars and debated on this one.... but I can get a front end respray twice for the price of the clearbra.

I did clearbra the front lamps of course - you cannot fix scratches one those

 

car spun in the rain on a highway ramp. had a hard time doing part throttle to save it and it just came around on me. lifted a little and the throttle closed

 

No chips at all on the paint. My brother did make a nice scrape on the front right fender moving my car out of the garage while i was sleeping. But i've been fixing that myself. Otherwise i'm pretty good for now.

 

i've had my xD for less than two weeks ... and while backing out of the driveway ... i scraped the entire left underside of the bumper ... i dont deserve nice things

I just got done washing my car and guess what?

I found a pin-head sized nick out of the paint 1 cm left of the front hood scion logo. It got me a little depressed, but hey...it was gonna happen sooner or later : /

As for touch up paint on an xD RS 1.0...would a shop like napa or autozone have the right color for touch up paint on hot lava? Or do I have to go through the dealer?
