As I continue to agonize over a RAV4 limited and an xB - so different in type that comparing is silly almost! I have more questions....

I really love the light blue ambient lighting in the HHR and the Malibu. I have looked at the xB light kit. It isn't lighted where I would want light. I would want light near the center console and the car key area. I love the HHR lights as it means you can look at a map and stuff any time without blinding yourself. i also love how subtle it is.

I have looked at some of the auto dim mirrors online and seen that some have maplights on them. The '09 xB of course doesn't, but, not sure if I had the auto dim if i could just easily swap the wiring harnasses onto a new mirror at a later time.

I also saw that one guy had drilled small areas out of his rear view mirror and added like 3 leds pointing down.

I want to know some ideas for doing this and I need them to be pretty simple. I don't want to destroy my car and I am unskilled.

well I am digging for pics but have yet to find one. There are 2 (one passenger one driver) turquise single bulb LEDs in the center on the ceiling that shine gentle light down towards the center of the car in the console area. It helps you see the interior of the car or look at maps with light that isn't blinding and it always on.

i had a hhr rental while my xb was in the body shop, i know whatyour talking about and i think that light would be sweet in the xb
