GAWD I WANT ONE!!!!

not too sure when I'll have the couple grand to get one installed though... I still need to get an intake, header, tint, leather, and somehow save for the TRD supercharger coming out in 4.5mo and SOMEHOW add that onto the list... that's like $7500 in mods... may have to pass on the supercharger... or the leather... or the eclipse... *cries* leather or an eclipse? I'd have to say eclipse.... god I need a second fulltime job, college sucks

Default Cool...

Hey... thats nice

Your dash light and clock light looks really bright... did you do something to it? Or maybe just the camera.

Its hard to see the gaps on the side... did you fill it in with something?

I read... but can't find that post anymore. Someone said there are toyota parts to fill those gaps. Its like 2 piece of plastic... if you every come accross that let me know.

Plus... did you have pictures of the wires you tapped into for the reverse and speed sensor?

Thanks alot!

Leather, especially if you go with a really nice color. I did red leather on my superwhite. Looks insanely good, the contrast is unbelievable, get compliments non stop. They way they do it is really nice too because on the inside you end up with a two tone black and red look. They replace the doorpanels with leather and the glove box is wrapped too. I def want an in dash touchscreen dvd/nav though. Thats my next project along with some engine mods. Man I need loot sooo bad.

looks nice! I have a Kenwood myself and I love it. I didn't like the DVD playback controls on the AVN2454. However, I love how it is all in one unit. Right now i have gaps, but nothing a couple peices of black plastic (I'm thinking of cutting the black part of a CD case) and some double sided tape can't fix.

Thanks for all the kind comments guys - the eclipse rocks! I had the choice between that and leather and while leather is nice, the NAV would provide more enjoyment overall. Leather is next...then SC

For the brackets on the side (not installed in photos) you can check out this thread:
http://www.newcelica.org/forums/show...bracket+online

The total price was $1875, shipped from Ebay - I did the install myself with some advice and help from "Ivben Blown". According to his instructions I did the following:

1. Re-drill the mounting bracket with holes 1/4th inch back
2. Tap the orange wire on pin 14 on the AC control plug (Speed Sense)
3. Tab the pink wire on pin (I forget - closest to the edge closest to you) for reverse
4. Grounded the parking break wire to the screw behind the guages that connects to the frame
5. Install the GPS antenna behind the guages.

It was so so so simple to install. Al & Eds wanted $200 to do the install It took me about 7 hours to do, but I took extra care in every step and made sure everything was connected securely. I had the most trouble getting the mounting bracket drilled correctly - the holes were off bit a little bit so I had to make "adjustments" as I was fitting it.

The wiring itself was easy and all the plugs from the stock radio fit perfectly.

Project0 - word about the DVD controls, THEY SUCK. However I hardly watch DVD's and if I am, there is usually a passenger who can control it and worry about the clumsiness.

Also - Mp3 playback SUCKS on the eclipse. It is hard to navigate and any mp3s other than 128kbps take forever to browse through as well as start playing. Also what is up with the Id3 tags? It only shows Title/Album, no artist??/

Good thing my Aux-Pod works fine with the eclipse, the ipod sounds great
The eq is nice as well as the dsp- makes the stock speaker/sub combo sound MUCH better....

I also have the kenwood DDX7015+nav, heres a thought, I'm going to do it when i get my dremel back... cutting trim piece that came with the unit might work quite well, its high density plastic too... i'll try it and see if it looks nice.

Nice AVN btw!

Which cable (part number) did you need to get with the Aux-Pod to make it work with the eclipse. I'm considering this.

Right now, I have the iPod in the Belkin Tune-Dock holder with a Belkin cig lighter adapter. And connected to the 2454 via the VTR inputs. I do like this setup with my iPod photo because I can do slide shows and the images appear on the screen. That trick is pretty cool but, I'd like to be able to control it from the HU and I think that functionality might be more important than slide shows.

YES! It gives the car a whole different "aura" inside. When I'm driving with the cover down I feel empty inside. Having the nav running or even the menus for the cdchanger makes the car feel like it is "alive" in a weird sort of way.

To get the aux-pod to work I just used the standard ab-toy adapter and then there is a cd changer adapter cable from toyota. It is the same setup used when hooking up to the stock radio. I believe that pac-audio changed the toyota cable so it doesn't require the toyota cd changer cable. PM for more info.

can you watch DVDs while the car is in motion? also can you hook up a ps2 if you have the rear view camera?
